Bandits are NOT ruining DayZ

warz also accommodates hackers by promoting there streams something which rocket will not do

as posted here, and i have posted with game research 'bobble hat'/alt/tinfoil hat Bandits are good

KOS FUN: kill for fun  - bad

KOS survival: kill to be safe, it don't happen that much, and can be talked down

KOS Hunters: sit and snipe, or hunt down player for fun (ass holes)

Bandits, not kos, they have game plan.

 

bandit make game fun, KOS are not bandits :P

First off combat in the mod and game are fun.  It's what keeps me coming back to it month after month.  However as a survival game and mod it's horribly deficient.   The mod and and the standalone are too easy to survive.  Thus you don't need to be a bandit to survive.  Most people bandit or KOS simply because they've beaten the survival aspect of the game and there is simply nothing else to do.  

 

I've seen a lot of players come and go.  Many I've chatted via TS, some I've played with.  Almost to a fault every player learns to survive, cooperates and are considered friendly.  Then once survival is easy they start hoarding and gathering vehicles.  Once that gets old it's fly over Cherno and Electro and shoot anything that moves.  Then it becomes who has the lower humanity.

 

I would suggest server hopping is removed, have finite items in each sever and control introduction of perishables so that everything is scarce.  The problem in the game is that no matter how rare an item is there still is an infinite amount of them.  Vehicles in vanilla is a perfect example of rare finite items that are always in contention (worth stealing and worth fighting for). Stealing one is true banditry since you can't acquire one by loot spawning an area or server hopping.  People will die trying to keep the vehicle since it is so valuable.

To put in a different way: once there is no scarcity, you're no longer in a situation where you have to fight for survival. That means to be challenged you have to go out there and create danger for yourself.

Their conscience is their own. I cannot be bothered by someone using their time to break a code.

I don't think my fun is ruined by them at any step in whatever game. My fun is more important than paying attention to that.

Not diminishing the problem and I agree it must be addressed, but IMO at the moment a system to prevent hoppers is WAY more important.

The game should have a balance of Survivors and Bandits.

 

Survivors should be the major part, like the 60%

 

Bandits should be a slightly lesser part, like 40%

 

 

Right now it's basically Survivors 10% and Bandits 90%, it isn't fun at all.

Depends. Playing on a hardcore server and staying away from the coast I get about 80% friendly lately.

Yes this game can be extremely frustrating like we all know , but truly this game is taking gaming to a whole new level , we can no longer sit and fully "relax" so to speak while we play, you have to be on edge and you have to be playing by certain guidelines if you wanna live like moving through open areas only If necessary and to do it quickly , to always check behind you And around you now and again , when it comes to interactions with people it's best to just stay away from people you don't know but if you're willing to lose your gear go out on a limb to try and make a friend cuz after all the safest way to play is with friends , tactically . But over all realize this game allows you to do anything , but because of that it also forces you to play it a certain way if you want to live long and with plenty of fun gear :)

I don't think KoSers are ruining the game either. I really enjoy hunting for them.

 

I agree KoS is not the same thing as banditry, but people tend to generalise.

Bandits are OK, KoSers are fucking annoying, not even fun to hunt
