What do you do when you find heaven?

Recommended Posts

Slightly odd question I know.

I've been playing around a week now, after reading as much information as I could on these forums I dived into the game and headed North via an airfield moving from town to town. I'm in a posistion now where having moved very far inland I've discovered a very secure and remote small compound. It has shelter and walls, it spawns enough 5.56 ammunition that I now just don't pick it up anymore, food, military equipment, medical supplies and it has it's own water supply.

My question is - what now? I'm in a secure and self contained location that is sustainable and defendable - the survivors heaven surely?

Anyone else find themselves in this situation?

That is a military compound, people go there before heading to air fields.

One of these days you will log on to see a not so friendly face.

My heaven is Rog Castle. No one actually goes there, has a great view, good for snipers, and quick to run to elektro or the compound you talked about/air field.

go hunt for people in airfields. not much to do beyond that at this point of the game. i've been in that situation too. when you have a lot of ammo, you feel the need to start spending them.

by the sounds of things you're in the mil base west of Starry, you can stay in there if you like, just make sure you play on busy servers and see how long you can stay alive for if you think you're in a secure position..

Well I found a barn that was like that, but had no ammo spawns only,a well and food spawn.

when you find  place like that just hold up protect it from bandits and spred the power if you can.

Thats really all I can think of,I dunno why people cant stand just being alive.

Well, the two of you that have taken guesses at my location have both been wrong which tells me I'm in a fairly robust posistion - when I say small I mean tiny compound, couldn't park a vehicle in here if you wanted to.

Bandit hunting sounds good, the reality is I probably suck at PvP type scenarios so I'd likely just get myself killed. It's heartening to hear that others have found themselves in this situation.

Don't limit yourself to the first "neat" spot you find. Mark it on your mental list of nice spots and go discover the rest of the map. There are a lot of cool places and things to see. Who knows, maybe you'll run into some other survivors and have yourself an experience.

i suck in PvP too, but what the hell. death = new challenges await.

today i emptied 2 clips of M4 rounds to one guy who came at me with fists only. i f***ing lost :D i think he cheated since i'm pretty sure that atleast 2/3 of all the bullets did hit him. then again i was in crouch position so i don't know if there's some bug related to it.

but yeah what ever. it's only alpha. random shit is bound to happen.

OP is at Bashnya. Small barracks compound surround by a wall, with 2 small shack buildings, one two story barracks building w/jail cell, a well, and a dear stand just outside.

Its located at the top of a hill just north of the tent compound at the NWAF...

Been there many times myself. I find it is rarely looted. Never encountered another player there myself.

Yup, most people don't think to go past the airfield at all. I know the spot, it's nice.

Aha, rumbled.

It is a nice spot, might find I get some visitors now... I headed further North but there isn't a great deal past me now.

Your actually probably pretty safe there. Even if someone does show up, there are plenty of places to wait in ambush, with plenty of good angles of fire, and lots of thick cover all around for a hasty retreat if things go badly.

And yeah, that little "fort" is about as far from the coast as you can get and still find good loot.

I couldnt tell you where it was or what it was called, but I came across what was either a jail or military compound in the middle of some woods.(it had guard towers on each corner, a central large building, and some smaller buildings all surrounded by one large wall with only one gate entrance.)

There were no zombies and even on a crowded server I didnt see a single soul while I hung out there.  After a little bit though, I actually became quite uncomfortable hanging out there...like some sort of paranoia crept up on me.  I guess my play style has always been: find a spot, eyeball it for a bit to check for exits, attack points, other players, etc, then make my move and see what it has to offer. I rarely stay anywhere very long really unless Im on a night server with few people and looking to get some loot on an airfield or something.

When i have my Mosin with all attachments, i like to set up in a high elevation spot near military bases, turn a flashlight on in one of the jails and leave it there, and wait for the bandits to roll in

Be careful up there. Up the hill a bit (North I believe) there are some spots with good trees and foliage for cover, where you can lay prone and get a good sniper angle into both the top and bottom barracks I believe. You can check if the internal doors and front gate are open from there. If you go north over and down the hill you can find a house with a well if you're nervous about filling your canteen inside a military spawn. Straight Northeast from that well (or follow the road if you like) and cross the highway there is a decent loot area as well, with several warehouses, stables, and at least six garages. It looks a bit unfinished up there, but it's also quite a low traffic area.

I sort of live up there in the desolate northern wastes. I grab food in Gvodzno and follow the railroad north of there, stopping at the train station/carpark on the way. It's a nice way to go wide of the traffic between the northern military spawns.

I suppose I would have kept it to myself but some-one had to invite the tourists.

Oh, and you can park a vehicle there. There is a road that leads to the gate. Then again you'd have to drive up the airfield and through tent city or maybe along the eastern wall. Fairly risky.

Go help survivors? Set up bandit traps?

Its your choice

Damn skippy this guy hit the nail on the head as of right now the game supports these two options for end game.

Thanks for the tips, I've decided to migrate south via the railway station/carpark area.

I loved my little spot of heaven up north but I've spent a few days there and I haven't really interacted with other players outside of getting shot at so I thought I'd push South and see if I can help out any new spawns.

Careful. South is the North-West airfield. That is group PVP territory and a massive, spread out loot spot. Head east for a bit first, then south. I actually recommend heading east along that railroad (a long run, to be sure) and when you get to the coast you can take a look at Rify, the wrecked cargo ship. It's a spectacular sight if you haven't been. This is assuming you're more of an isolationist.

Also, it seems like the majority of new spawns are on the eastern coast as well. Good luck and safe travels.

You ration yourself, to much of heaven is......well......

Too much of heaven,

Can bring you underground

Heaven, can always turn around.

Too much of heaven,

A life and soul hell bound.

Heaven, the killer makes no sound.

They're still talking about money,

That's right and too much of heaven.

C'mon my friend.

Let me tell you what it's all about,

It's called money dependence today,

And people just keep on going on

Looking at the dollar bill,

And nothing else around them.

No love, no friendship, nothing else,

Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket,

Into their bank account,

And that's too much of heaven

Bringing them underground.

Let me tell you what it's all about

It's called money dependence today,

And people just keep on going on

Looking at the dollar bill,

And nothing else around them.

No love, no friendship, nothing else,

Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket,

Into their bank account,

The answer,

Is blowing in the wind.

The answer is blowing.

Oh let me tell you what it's all about.

Too much of heaven bring you underground.
