Mosin = Easy Mode, I love the Mosin

Recommended Posts

It's like a death laser :]

1. Easy to find mosin

2. Easy to find ammo

3. Easy to find scopes

4. Basic Iron sights is very useful and does not need that attachments unless very very long distance

5. One hit downs and two hits if you run into full health/full armored player
6. No need to trek into hot zones
7. Scouting
8. Hit and run

Cons?
1. Long range scope sometimes hard to find
2. Face to face surprise[even then it's very easy to come out winning cause it's so accurate]

Yep. Pretty much reminds me of the Lee Enfield in the Mod. I don't think it will always be the strongest weapon out there, but for now it makes a nice mid-range sniper rifle 'death laser' lol

I'd say the slow fire rate is a con.

yeah I put that there in suprise face to face. That's the only way you'll lose. That and getting creeped on.

I've only recently acquired a mosin, but you can't reload it from the middle-mouse click like you can the m4 - or am I doing it wrong? To reload, I have to unload the mosin in the inventory screen and reload more ammo every time... it's quite cumbersome (perhaps by design?) and I have no idea how much ammo is in it (which you can see on the m4).

I'm pretty sure the mosin uses a clip and not a magazine. This would make sense if that is the case.

2. Easy to find ammo

Tell that to 7 hours of gameplay and only finding 10 rounds so far

Mosin's magazine is internal, when you reload the gun you're basically loading the magazine without detaching it.

The mosin is typically reloaded from stipper clips, and can be reloaded just as fast as a m4. Given the loacation of the game, all the ammuntion for it would come on those, especially when you consider that just about every weapon that uses those rounds also accepts clips. Just about every purpose built millitary bolt action is this way, Mausers, 1903 Springfileds, Enfields, M1917, even the SKS and SVT are loaded from stripper clips despite the detachable magazines on the Enfields and SVT's. Thats why they all have a  open c shaped cutout on the rear ring of the reciver or the top of the bolt.

Diffrent gun but same basic idea

I changed to the m4 for CQC and surprise face to face encounters.

I was able to find 20 rounds in Kamy 10 or so minutes after spawning.

Note: I also found a Hunting Backpack, Multiple Motorcycle Helmets, a PU Scope and food in Kamy, probably the best Kamy run shortly after spawning I have ever had.

Where is this ship you speak of?

I'd tell you to find it yourself, usually.  It is posted all over google.

But I'll give you a clue!  And it is as follows:   Rify.

 Find a map.

I've got everything I need to survive. copious amounts of food, three canteens, pristine gear out the ass. My Mosin has a pristine PU, Long range scope, bipod and bayonet on it.

And for all that looting I've come up with 10 rounds of ammo. This game hates me sometimes

Personally, I have found the Mosin to be the most difficukt weapon to find.

The ammo spawns in houses not the gun?

I found Mosin ammo just fine, got more coupled M4 mags than you can shake a stick at - but magazines for the .45 pistol? Non existent...

very easy to find ammo for it just head to kamy you will find it on well hard bandit types hiding in bushes sniping at fresh spawns ( thats also how i got my current LR scope) no need to jump servers to gear up lately kammy has been a great source of fully geared loot bags niding in bushes

Any tips on finding the LRS for it?

I have found enough Ammo/Bipods/PU's and other Mosins to sink a ship, but finding that LRS is giving me issues, I try checking in the usual spots for it, but to no avail, so any advice?

Also, what situations should I consider using the PU scope over the LRS besides the distance factor, lol...
