Rinner23 5 Posted June 23, 2012 WTF I must be a total dumbass... not matter what I try I cannot get the flashlight to work. I've re-installed, remapped my 'headlights' key.. and it just does not work.. Anyone have any tips on what may be the problem?I'm on a GTX 460 on windows 7 x64 have HDR on etc. Downloading the latest WHQL drivers now, but so far each driver has no change.Everything else works great! nnuu 61 Posted June 23, 2012 Could you explain your flash light issues? Did you remove it from the tool belt and arm it?I am just asking to try and help you. I had a similar issue. I removed it from tool belt which then moved the flash light to the spot where your secondary (pistol). Then got out of inventory and press "f" and cycle through to flash light and then press "L" to turn it on. If you have done all this then sorry for wasting your time. Good luck. Cicero 2 Posted June 23, 2012 when you equip it and it says its equipped and you cant see it move and it will be pulled out you will see the torch crosshair and hit L and it should work
velyger@gmail.com 17 Posted June 23, 2012 i have problems with flashlight too since i changed my graphic card to less powerful one and was forced to lower video setting to minimum:it is very difficult to switch it on. i have to tap it many (~20) times, until it turns on. same goes for turning it off.it is really annoying, especially when i am attacked by a bandit, i cant switch it off, so it shows my position
vanilladragon 1 Posted June 23, 2012 i have the same issues, i gave up. i just jack my settings up instead. you can see easily enough and you arent shining a beacon to every pker for a kilometer.
Sporko 0 Posted June 23, 2012 I actually registered to ask this exact question, glad I did a search first.Only found out about the game last night, but a couple hour sof watching youtube videos was all the convincing I needed.I read all the newbie guides and just logged in like 20 minutes ago. "Huh. No guns now. Ok. Oh, neat, we start with a flashlight"*equip**press L* "Neat, light"*press L, nothing happens**press L, nothing happens**Presses L six or seven more times, it turns off, finally""press L again, still off"Repeat.I was wondering if that was maybe just a display issue on my part ( like maybe it really is turning on and off and flickering to everybody else, but not to me)I don't know

Rogo Ignoscant 8 Posted June 24, 2012 This is gonna sound stupid, but aim directly at your feet and mash "L" until it tunrs on.
velyger@gmail.com 17 Posted June 24, 2012 somebody should move this tread to bug report section...
ObiShaunKenobi 0 Posted June 24, 2012 I litterally just had this problem but I got it working by standing up then hit L. For whatever reason it wouldn't work while I was crouched. Once it was on I could move & crouch freely.
TheGoldElite 0 Posted June 24, 2012 Haha maybe it's an intended feature that lights have faulty buttons because they are old :)
Dead_Pixel 0 Posted July 1, 2012 Try pressing F until it says Flashlight in the top right of the screen and press the "Headlights" key
peliluola@gmail.com 28 Posted July 1, 2012 Haha maybe it's an intended feature that lights have faulty buttons because they are old :)I always thought soviets did a thorough job with manufacturing their flashlights and other devices.
