Items will probably still wipe every once in a while, but we will be able to see what hive we are joining, so we won't be doing it to ourselves anymore.

My understanding is that your items get reset if you join the wrong server/hive. Maybe I'm wrong.

Like what just literally happened to me. Logged out with a nicely kitted character and logged onto a different server that had me fresh spawned. Moving back to the server I had come from still had me reset.

My swear jar just overflowed.

A lot of people on the boards advise having a list of servers you know are safe in your favorites. I've been doing it and I haven't been wiped in a week.

Actually, I moved from a server with gear and onto another, and my character reset, but when I joined another server he went back to normal for some reason? o-O

Yes, it is. Servers which are not yet white listed to access the hive will wipe your character when you join.

All I know is that since I started only using Gameservers hives, I've not had a character wipe. That's for two weeks, with 6+ wipes before that with random server joining...

Why is it like this? Database does not save properly when joining a non official server? This has happened to me, but I managed to get back on the server I was previously and my character was fine with all the gear.

I have recovered characters by alt f4 as soon as you hear the coast.

Well surprise surprise, logged in today and got my gear back. It wasn't much but it was enough to survive and now I'm almost fully geared, all I need now is pristine LRS and I can go back to doing what my signature says.
