Forget KOS, POS is the real issue!

So I was out west, far from my buddies who are in the Berenzino area.  I made the long run back from NWAF, through Stary Sobor, get my angle a bit off, and hit Solychniya instead of Nichnoya, which was where I was shooting for.  No big deal I figure.  I start heading north, up into the hills and forest NW of Solychniya when I see a new spawn come running toward me.  As I start to speak, he decks me.  I manage to say "Seriously?" before he hits me again. I start running away.

 

I headed west along the road towards Dolina, look back and see two bambi hoofing it after me.  The punched me a couple times since I had my M4 out.  One said "Killing fresh spawns eh?" while the other yelled "Get him!"

 

After reaching the little industrial area on the road, I finally turned and hip shot them both down.  A third spawn sailed out if no where and tried again.  I shot her too.  Exasperated, I went behind a building and bandaged.  Striking north up the hill, I heard someone start swearing at me.  Turning, I see a player, the one who started it, freshly spawned.  He again accused me of killing fresh spawn.  I told him to get away and that I hadn't done anything.  He asked, "Sure about that?"  His friend came running up at that point but both were at the bottom of the hill.  I turned and went north, thoughI should have killed them again.

 

At Nichnoya, I saw another player,armed with a bat and nothing else.  I avoided him and cut towards the trees in the west side of town.  He saw me from about 100 yards away and did the friendly dance and a wave.  I did the same, but my trust had been violated.  I got close enough to ask if he had a mic, which he didn't, but I didn't have any desire to get close for fear that more of the Crazy Bambi of the East would race out and try to knock me out for my gear.  I logged out up in Berenzino.

 

Seriously, being near new spawn points without the desire to kill can be dangerous because the douchy ones have no concern for their life and will take a chance at knocking you out.  POS is the new KOS and I hate the little bastards for it.

Wow, that must suck. Killing new spawns due to them being hostile is such a waste of ammo :L

 

Wish that they at least try to arm themselves before they start to do stupid shit like what the guys did to you.

Yeah, the spawns are pretty close at the moment. Any place near a spawn point you go, you'll find at least 3 people in a 30 ~ 40/40 server. It can even break the immersion sometimes, but I'm okay with how the spawn points work at the moment. The bad thing is, once they see you, they try to K.O. you with their fists instantly.

The people who punch on sight or axe on sight are typically what I assume are new spawn campers or KOS-type people (aka assholes) just without gear lol

However, I'm kind of surprised they chased you if they weren't those types of people, if you wanted to kill them you would have killed them instantly. I remember going around fully geared near the coast hunting fresh spawn hunters, I came across a guy with nothing but a pipe wrench and offered him water, can opener, and beans but he responded with nothing but drawing his wrench and chasing at me. That's why I never gear up anymore, it's not worth it for what I do lol

Thats just it, I wasn't even in town!  Once I realized I wasn't at Nichnoya, I was heading back into the woods.  I had only come that far through the trees to hit the water fountain near the orchard before cruising into Berenzino.  I am supposed to meet my buddies tonight and they logged up near the ruined ship.

 

The new spawn must have been heading for Dolina or Polana I guess and spotted me.

I won't make the mistake of approaching a new spawn without back up in the future.  Sounds crazy, but I really don't feel like blasting a bambi just because they are aggressive or stupid.

That is just it, I was running in the opposite direction and he sprinted about 50 yards to reach me for the beating.  He wasn't afraid of being robbed, he was looking to score full gear through OP knock out!

I don't see anything wrong with a fresh spawn trying to kill a geared player.. however I do feel that there needs to be far more spawn points that are not located on the beach.  Because as you say, it is literally just a death sentance for someone and forces geared players to generally avoid the beach entirely if you don't have the intention to kill people with nothing.

I feel I'm one of the rare people trying to avoid confrontation if I'm unarmed, and even fully geared.

 

Still, as there are so much KOSers, POSers amount raises, both people bored to be spawncamped and KOSers freshly spawned, IMO...

 

BTW, If I meet you, I'll offer you beans, because the beans are the life!
