3rd person suggestion, not my idea)

Just watched a Devblog of 2017 for Arma 3, found it here on the forums.

Interesting and simple idea, to fix the 3rd person abuse.

Searched 3rd person, din`t come up with anything useful, so thats why i post this, probably already common information, in hope that people like me, who are new to the forum, will have easy access to this information.

That is really interesting.

This really kills its use a an exploit and lets people use it to view their character instead of completely taking away that feature.

If anybody complained then they are really just attached to using their 3rd person as an advantage in combat.

You have 3PP:OFF servers now,why is this even an issue? Just go there and play your heart out. Honest, I don't mind.

 

What I do mind is people more concerned with how I play the game than actually playing the game.

People posting about 3PP:OFF, don`t bother, i know about this.

The issue is that I would like an option to look at my Char from 3RD person, to admire how I look in my gear, otherwise whats the point of customising your appearance.And at the same time, NOT recieve this obscene invisible periscope ability, hope you understand what im talking about.

 

There should be servers, with: 1ST person view only,

                                                  3RD person view, like the 3PP:ON is currently implimented(easy mode)

                                                  And the Movified(realistic 3RD person view)

Yea we defly don't need this , I love playing first person servers and their already available , just find two servers to be your main servers, one to be 1st one to be 1st/3rd person

i like this idea, wanted to post about it my self but wasn't sure how too explain it, video shows it.

 

Being able to play in 3pp without the exploit view is good for taking photos. Can't include your player in scene with its 1st person only. Also 3pp changes the atmosphere of the game, from being the player, to watching the player. its nice to have the choice.

 

no reason not to have this as option  Scratch that last line! Will get some silly replies unless i explain that statement in detail, and i just to lazy lol

I saw the link to this vid in another thread, but I believe the consensus there was that nobody minded 3pp if you can't exploit it. This would be a good solution.

It still gives you an advantage because the camera is elevated. Meh, it wouldn't be a problem if there was more 3pp:OFF servers - remove the head bobbing and we might get more.

They still see over the obstacle, the door is open or closed. That might not be very important now, but may be in the future, when the doors would be lockable etc. imho.

Gotta say that I personally play first person only.

Although, I find role play and stuff much funnier in third person where you can see what you yourself and others are doing around you.

I usually say just use your inventory screen to see your character, but in many cases the only time you want to see your character is when they're doing something and not standing there idle.

This is a good fix that works 100% against those that wish to exploit the you can't see me type of third person.

But it doesn't ruin the experience for the very very large portion of the community that enjoys seeing their character in their natural environment.

By all means keep first person only, but this feature is a must for third person.

People that think third person is fine the way it is to me must be exploiting the current third person a bit, I encourage them to try a bit of first person only.
