coltonlong 211 Posted January 12, 2014 Now, this just hit me out of nowhere. Chernarus is a post soviet state, right? well then most of the citizens would be lower to lower-middle class. So wouldnt they be making the most use of everything they had? AKA, patching clothes when they are damaged, rather than getting a new article of clothing? just an idea.
FatKangaroo 72 Posted January 12, 2014 Yeah! Seems like a valid way to repair clothing.
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted January 12, 2014 These will more than likely be added when item repair/maintenance is added in. I'd also like to see that sewing kits could be used to 'customize' some articles of clothing to add patches and such for group identification. IE you add your clan logo to a bandanna with a sewing kit and tie it to your arm.

Toybasher 27 Posted January 12, 2014 What about using them to sew up your wounds, increasing your health? (Would ONLY work with zombie attacks or gunshot/melee wounds. Wouldn't work with hunger/thirst damage, sicknesses, or hypo/hyperthermia.)
Asteroid (DayZ) 20 Posted January 12, 2014 Good ideahow about sewing machines too. not as common and you still need to collect thread but is quicker action.Downsides (not saying bad idea this just adds to realism) Noise would attract zombies or bandits if it is a sewing machineSewing machine needs battery as well as threadSewing kit takes a while BUT you can do it on the move

I don't think increasing your health is a good idea but it could implement a line of more detailed medical procedures, for example, if you need to take a bullet out of your leg after an op you need something to sew the wound shut, why not using a sewing kit, the same could be said for non bleeding open wounds, stich them open before the wound gets worse and potentially an infection
