Disable log out in / near buildings

I talked with a friend about not being able to change server / exit the game when your in or near a building.

 

 

I was wondering what others think of this.

Why would you want this? If its to combat people running into a building and logging out, they are working on their combat logging fix as we speak. Outside of that context I'm not sure why you would want this. As you log into the game, its a bit disorienting and you need to get your bearings quick while hoping there aren't any zombies or players that saw you before you even got in game and are coming to kill you. That's why its nearly always the best bet to hide inside a house when you log out. Not sure why you would want to force people to only log out in the open.

Worst thing you can do is log out inside a house or building... Thats how you get killed by someone already inside. Ive killed several people who logged in next to me. You should run into the nearest forest or tree line and log out inside the tree or bush.

 

I do not approve of this idea though, its stupid, just let people log out anywhere they want.

When you have to go you just have to go. I see the potential good point in this but having an job, kids, school or someother duties in life just take the priority over the game. And for example if I am in town and lets say friend askes me to come out asap or if I just have to take crap. Im not going to take the time to travel carefully out of town just to log off. Or if I just have to take crap.

Get teleported out of the town when logging in again? I dont like teleporting but it would be a way to stop people from logging in in secured buildings. They should be teleported to the next position with no big points of interest near them. If the stuff to prevent combat logging is in the game it could hardly be abused.

I see that I must be the only one to kind of agree with this suggestion. But I would add that it should prevent you from logging out near loot spawns, not only buildings. This is not to avoid combat logging, it's to avoid server hopping for easy loot. I agree that this solution affects legit players too much, and sometimes you just have to leave right at the moment, so let's hope the devs have something better up their sleeve to fight server hopping.

I see exactly zero benefit or reason to prevent people logging out in a building.

 

This is not to avoid combat logging, it's to avoid server hopping for easy loot.

Server hopping for easy loot will be greatly reduced once loot respawns. The only reason people server hop now is because loot only respawns once a server is restarted and sometimes that's not very often.

why?

there will be fixes for server hoppers and combat loggers. but not like this.

let people log out whereever they want ffs
