Hands / Punching being the best weapon in the game WTF?

I learnt this yesterday after a fresh spawn ran at me with only his fists out, fists aren't gonna do anything right? WRONG. Unless you're wearing a helmet, a single punch to the head will kill you. ARE YOU SERIOUS. Who's idea was this? Technically the punch will render you unconscious, but unless you have a friend standing by with epinephrine, you're dead. So good job. I will now KOS any fresh spawn within 25ft of me.

Fists are a bit OP at the moment, but raging isn't going to help. You can just sit and wait until they fix it.

Guy runs up, one second later I'm "unconscious" aka dead. They seem to do a little more than just knock you down.

They definitely should not 'fix' this. Right now, in the current state of the game it seems like a problem, but its intended to help you against zombies. Being able to knock out a zombie when you don't have a weapon will become invaluable when their numbers get increased. Also, why on Earth would you ever let someone you didn't know get that close to you? They don't need to be near you to talk and if you are helping them you can always drop gear on the ground and back away.

Although you are right, I can't dismiss OP's thought : "Who's idea was this?" because it's not like they changed the value accidentally... Some moron must have been sitting there : "Oh, well one hit-uncontious is a great idea, just let me shift this decimal point to the left!"

It doesn't just knock you down, it renders you unconscious, big difference.

 

The other day a guy attacked me with an axe on top of the school, I just punched him, he was instantly unconscious, his body slid off the roof and he fell to his death 4 stories below. Another guy ran up and I knocked him out too. Later I was knocked out instantly by some guy in a motorcycle helmet.

I would disregard the OP, this is how I understand the game works

 

if you are full blood it takes three quick punches to the head to be knocked out/go unconscious

 

you dont need an epi pen to recover from it, you will recover in only a few secounds. if you dont or you die its probably because the person that punched you out took your gun off you and shot you or you fell off something to your death or further injury.

 

if you did get knocked unconscious with one punch in the head it would probably mean you were below 50% blood, if you run about with compromised health/blood status you risk being eventually taken down easy/1 hit

 

I also understand that wearing a helmit gives you some protection, so you can always just put on one of the helmits that are almost everywhere in the game.

Fists compared to guns are closer to reality because you can be knocked out unlike with gunshot wounds where you stand up put a band aid to plug the hole and carry on like nothing happened.

currently i think the fists work just fine it takes 6-7 hits to knock out a healthy person with a ballistic helmet on where all he has to do is shoot you once and your dead no biggie since you start at 50% everything

No I shot a person running at me trying to punch me "3" times with my mosin nagant, he proceeded to knock me unconcious.

Had a guy try to punch me and it only took one shot to the head to drop him.

You get knocked unconscious, the best way to avoid this is keep people outwith an arms reach.

I don't even know why punching was made letal, i think it should only knock you out players and stun zombies. Encourage people to find a proper melee weapon if they want to go kill happy.
