Regarding the shit accuracy on m4's and every gun in the game if its worn or damaged.

How about being able to disemble weapons you find and use them in your current weapons so you can repair then?

it's already how it's work, you can remove part from a weapon in vicinity to replace a part of your own weapon

I agree with the OP, why have shifting spanners, pliers, screwdrivers in the game if you cant really use them properly.

Make them useable for weapon maintenance.

Not attachments, repairable weapons...

Rather than just swapping out parts that become damaged, it would be better to repair them...however, maybe this could be something that takes a while to do....maybe 5-10 mins depending on the level of repair needed.

I doubt that this isn't planned allready. Just needs implementation at a future stage.

I'd have it so you can combine multiple levels of a scope etc to create the one above it - to replicate that you salvage working parts from one to mend the other. Ruined parts have nothing salvageable left in them.

Something like:

Badly Damaged + Badly Damaged = Damaged + Ruined

Damaged + Damaged = Worn + Badly Damaged

Worn + Worn = Pristine + Damaged

Or maybe require 3 of each item or require them to have a copy of the level above so that they know how to assemble it correctly?

Damaged + 2x Badly Damaged = 2x Damaged + Ruined

Worn+ 2x Damaged = 2x Worn + Badly Damaged

Pristine + 2x Worn = 2x Pristine + Damaged

Small amount of crafting time, maybe 30s-1min but quite noisy. It is still a game after all.

EDIT: Added colours for clarity

Cannibalizing on parts in the field... ah yes.. not uncommon on IRL operations anyway. Got 2 F'ed up jeeps? Oh look at that they still make one proper running vehicle.. bolt that MG back on and get back out there ^^

agreed, im sure this will come in to play in the future...just not a priority.

Super cool to be able to say fix the glass on the Acog or LR scope or fix the wood on the mosin and this would improve accuracy (like bedding a rifle or something)

all with a crafting system of sorts and a bit of time, like house building in epoch sort of

Logically thinking - how do you plan on repairing broken weapon parts? It would be much more fesable to simply replace them...

Not necc in this setting...sure its easy enough to find another PU scope etc in SA, but realistically wouldnt it be easier to modify or repair certain items then hoping that luck will grace you with a new PU?

sounds like a fun option though. Just adds more to crafting. Which is welcome..

maybe even just the ability to take certain items, just broken stocks or damaged optics and fix them with other parts/tools in SA would be well worth it and add things to do for us..

Taking some broken glass from a perfectly framed metal frame, it's useless anyway. And just find some other glass and put it in. Pristine ACOG.

If you ment about repairing your weapon parts, then sure, why not? Hell, I even believe they will add it at some point later in development, as it sounds pretty logical; however one should not be able to repair completely to a stock pristine state the weapon attachments, since that would be incredibly hard even in real life, but maybe some duct tape there and in other parts would fix some things.

Also they should consider adding different kind of damage states, for example, the bipod could get it's screws removed due to damage, and it would take a screwdriver and some screws to make it work again, however, it could also completely have a leg removen and it would be impossible to repair it unless you have much duct tape and even then you wouldn't achieve the same effect as a stock pristine one.

Not too sure about this one. If say an M4 is damaged, the only thing you could do is replace components (upper and lower receivers, bolt and bolt carrier group). Besides, these parts dont get very worn or damaged unless they have 10s of thousands of rounds through them. Rust would be the biggest factor on weapon condition. CLP, patches, punch rods, AP brush, and rags should all be necessary to fully clean a weapon. It forces the player to maintain their weapon, which is first priority in the field.
