People knowing my name

Recommended Posts

I keep running into people that know my name without ever getting close enough to shoot at me, my friend today ran into someone that after a squad of three killed me, they came into the house after him and my friend shot him. The guy was outside and said my friends name, and said he could see him prone in the wall and his 3 friends had eyes on him. I'm assuming knowing someone's name without actually using something on them is hacking? any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Probably he sees the name when you're using the VOIP (not sure about SA though).

Possible that he had some esp hack or that he used some item and knew name (maybe handcuffs or was in force feed range or smthng).

You can, to my knowledge, only find out names if ...

... force-feeding something to someone, cuffing, giving medical aid etc.

... the person told the name him/herself via VOIP or chat

... taking a good hard damn guess

If none of that happened and if you had no "spy" (in TS or whatever, listening to you) then I call fucking hacking / modification. I'm not even sure if that's possible but calling him out saying on what floor and in what stance he is (with name) seems more than fishy, unless it was a guess. Still does not explain the name thing.

and we told him nothing about our names and the moment he came around the corner my friend shot at him, so there is no way he was in range for force feeding/using an item. :/ It's happened to me a lot unfortunately, hopefully this StealthEye or whatever it's called is actually worth something. It was in SA btw

Press "P" and you know all players online.

If you know all except one, then you know his name.

Battleye support hasn't been added to the mod yet, as far as I know. Very likely he was hacking, in my opinion.

Thanks for all the responses guys, I appreciate it. It's what I thought too but wanted to confirm since it has happened to me a few times.
