colinm9991 196 Posted January 6, 2014 At least I picture things like supply drops as random event non-intrusive in a negative POV. In a zombie infested country, who drops the supplies & why the hell aren't they evacuating us or bombing Chernarus to contain and destroy the infection? Add this button, right in the center of Balota Airfield.

Evac is apparently a no go as we would be gone from the map, unless one was to add camps to the map where one could be brought. Who drops the supplies? Some mil remnants of Chernarus or even military / relief groups from another place to aid survivors. Why? Supporting them could be a long-term plan to make the region more stable or just to help people. Bombing chernarus? Already a suggestion. Bombing major cities from time to time or abandoned bases to kill zombies. And by bombing I don't mean nukes or anything "overkill" but smaller stuff such as mortars or so. Imbalanxd 59 Posted January 6, 2014 In a zombie infested country, who drops the supplies & why the hell aren't they evacuating us or bombing Chernarus to contain and destroy the infection? Add this button, right in the center of Balota Airfield. You can't evac in a quarantine situation, and only non infected humans would have the intelligence to use the supplies. Pretty good idea to drop supplies to hasted the destruction of the infected.
jd85 13 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) DayZ takes place several years after the outbreak. Military got overrun, government pulled back into bunkers or is dead as well. Rocket said in an interview that he only wants player caused events. (a player finds and repairs a vehicle, dies with it in a horrible accident near elektro, people find the wreck and enjoy the sight) nothing more, nothing less. IMO the chopper crashsites were really dumb. Hunting players that actually owned a chopper was fun though. Whilst i do love the concept of events occurring in game being caused by players only, i worry that there is simply not enough player activity in your average server to create enough of these and enough variation. Perhaps if the larger capacity servers happen and we see 60+ players then it may lead to some interesting abandoned cars, crashed helicopters etc. I spent about 2 hours in a 40/40 server at the weekend and i only saw one person, and this was sweeping through Balota, along the coast through Cherno and all the way up to Elektro. Granted that is probably not the norm, and i had to constantly check the server details that the server was still full. No idea where everyone was! With the large map, and a map that is seemingly growing, without server generated events the chance of coming across a 'player caused event' like a crashed helicopter/car/whatever is going to be quite uncommon, except maybe in hot spot areas on servers with lots of players online. Just speculation, i have no actual idea what is around the corner just my own thoughts. Personally I would like to see zombies spawning inside buildings however, i occasionally see a zombie in a building but i can only assume it followed a player into it and never came out.
