Spawn Changes Too Soon!

Recommended Posts

The new spawn changes as seen throughout the game by most players currently and also confirmed by Hicks here: http://imgur.com/a/URaPv has been done too soon!

Not only are they forcing players to run through the wilderness, prolonging the journey to actual military areas but with item spawns still disabled and player count so low this change will make DayZ even more barren due to no close centralized areas.

Turn off these new spawns and revert back to the old ones until item respawns are active and player count is up to 60-75 people.

Don't make the SA more tedious than it already is for testers!

No.

I am sick of looking at Balota. People need to spread their wings and learn to fly.

Absolutely not if anything they should remove all the coastal spawns and force people to explore the north.

No. The purpose of this, as you know, it to test stuff. Things will change dramatically with no warning. Get used to it and give constructive feedback or stfu already. The spawns aren't bad. The loot isn't bad. They are testing things to see how it will work out.

Let's spawn them in the empty north! +1 for this

That's pretty selfish just because you like to play a running simulator for an hour to get to north, does not mean everyone else do.

It has nothing to do with being selfish its about populating the vastly empty map. It has to do with stopping the coastal towns from being constant battlegrounds where geared people kill fresh spawns, it has to do with adding more experiences than just spawning in cherno or electro finding a firearm then hunting for players.

The spawns are going to change from time to time... this is an Alpha build and this is a testing phase, so to assume that things will remain the way that "you" want them is asinine. I'm sure at some point in the Alpha process the spawns will shift to the North and to the East as well.

If this is the case then the hole western part of the map is just a spawnless area, it wont prevent deathmatches it will encourage them now that everyone is spawning in the east

No all it will do is encourage more KOS than co-operation or exploration of the map, It will also increase campers.

You would be a fool to hope otherwise.

Oh is THIS why I ran into some total noobs at the military base south of NWAF today??

Pro tip for the bambis new to the north, don't run around in a military base wearing a headlamp that you have turned on. You made it very easy for me to get into a position where I knew you would run past me for an easy kill. I'm not a KOSer except at loot locations that have weapons. If you're in a military base, I shoot. The entire north is a wealth of loot and food. All you have to do is stop getting seen.

whilst the game does not have many objectives or much content. It should stay fun until the game is worth playing properly.

Agreed, there is absolutely zero reason to do absolutely anything outside of a big city or military loot currently.  This change should have waited until heli crashes/other random events, player storage (tent hunting), and possibly vehicles.  These things create a reason to stop between spawn > axe/water/food/bag > run 20 min to military loot.  Currently none of this exists, there is no reason at all to stop anywhere from spawn to military loot outside of basic thirst/hunger mechanics.  There is no vehicle to come upon to repair, there is no tent to find for loot, there is no heli crash to go loot.  There is just a bunch of empty roads, empty fields, with random scattered small towns which are absolutely irrelevant to run past.  There needs to be something meaningful to do during this 20+ min run to military loot.
