Lag on high pop servers..

Is anyone else experiencing this? I spawn in with high desync pretty much no matter what server I join, and after a minute or so the desync chills out, but then I am often left with lag when I try to switch weapons, pick things up, open doors, or interact at all with the world. Even with 20 ping and 0 Desync, I still have this issue. This issue pretty much disappears on low-pop server (say, 0-15 people..?) On servers with 30+, I experience horrible delay on everything.

 

Also, have been experiencing the occasional rubber-banding, and not just a few meters, but across an entire map, back to the point I spawn, and then freezing in place.

 

Is this something everyone is experiencing or just me?

I am having the exact same issue. Once I join a server (any server) I get instant red broken chain.

 

My internet is working fine and I haven't changed any rules or settings since yesterday.

 

Any help?

That happens on every server on vanilla, every mod and the SA and is mostly caused by weak servers and/or too many players and/or clients with bad connections/computers.

pretty standard for everyone ya.

 

watch youtube videos of others playing on high pop, its normal.

 

wait till they get back off holidays and hopefully well see some real improvements!

SA servers start lagging quite badly when they're up for multiple days. And as most servers don't offer the access to create autorestarts it happens a lot, that servers are up for multiple consecutive hours.

Well, I have to play with less then 20 people too, at the moment :(

But I wonder, why i lag, because, if I take a look in the playerlist, I have pings like 50 to 80 ms and that's just okay.

Its really not you. It comes down to the netcode, server code, and hive structure mostly. It is one of the reasons why we are stress testing the servers right now with minimal zeds. The devs are collecting tons of metrics from us and once the holidays are over I'm sure we'll see some stability/optimization changes coming down the pipe.

Well, in it's current state I don't think the game is ready for 40 player servers.. Anything over 20-25 and it seems to lag incredibly bad.. Although possibly a little better with the new patch.
