Steam achievements

Recommended Posts

Would you like to see achievements? Do you think that certain aspects like banditry would be tamed if appropriate achievements were added, or would they get worse?

What achievements would you add, if you had the choice? I'd probably add very loose-based achievements that don't require 1 life to complete. And perhaps add an achievement 'X days survived' that would reset with each new life.

Dont really care, useless stuff.
If had to pick it would be no, just because those are for casual games. Well dont really care about them with anygame, just annoying steam popups before you turn them off.

Doesn't really fit in the world of DayZ in my oppinion. Why would you have to achieve anything other than survive in DayZ?

It's not meant to force you in a certain direction, you're free to do whatever you want - I wouldn't feel like that wiith achievements.

Unless its achievements that are there just to be achievements. Like so:

Or if it was things like

  • Stay alive for 1 hour
  • Stay alive for 5 hours
  • Survive an infection

I don't think anything that can be 'farmed' should be included like kill X zombies and definitely not anything that encourages killing other players.

Hahahah! Oh my, that's not what I had in mind at all!

And yea, achievements that derail you from normal gameplay suck, and should not be included. Just imagine the chaos that would ensue from achievements like 'Kill 50 zombies with a screwdriver' or 'Force feed 5 alcohol solutions'

Implementing achievements in a way that won't disrupt the natural order of things is pretty hard. The only ones that could be integrated without problems or ranting on the community's part would be the ones that come naturally as you progress / survive.
