nothing to do with the game, but has anyone noticed the sheer volume of 12 yearold idiots this game attracts now? maybe it's just the zombie genre, but bloody f*cking hell.

 

so i'm on a certain imageboard and these guys are posting dayz stories. what a surprise in finding that not a single one of them is a legitimate story, amusingly half of them were invalid just because the person who posted them was all like "OH AND I JUST SHOT HIM WITH A SHOTGUN" uh.

 

why do people feel the need? 

 

just felt the need to vent; invariably these guys are writing their crappy DAYZ stories because they can't work out how to play well.

 

if anyone who reads this ever feels the need to embellish their tales, please don't.  you'll ruin them.

yea i think the zombie aspect attracts a younger crowd who associate it with crap  like COD zombies ect. It takes a certain type of gamer to fully appreciate a game like Dayz or arma. usually it is a more mature person who can process the sheer volume of information given to you in the game like all the items and the crap you can make with them, also different rifles, calibers, zeroing ect. Anyway, teens mistakenly get this game and don't really comprehend the big picture of it

 

Like Dayz isnt as technical as arma2 or 3, but i still wouldn't really recommend it or any other arma type game to anyone under 17 or 18

I can rather enjoy both being an author or reading novels regarding RP play. Actually wrote a 12 pager on lingor once :P Though i can agree to some extent with Wookieenoob, if you gonna write something stick to facts. Never really checked out what he talked about but got the impression it was just people talking shit about what they did ingame.

(this is a destinction between rp and bullshit. the fact is that if these people make this shit up then people are going to get the wrong impression of the game because of the people posting absolute fiction.) 

 

as an example this guy with his shotguns, he probably just saw the shotgun shells and assumed it was ingame; so anyone reading that thinking of buying dayz already thinks it's more complete than it is.

yeah Dayz is fare from being fluid and complete and i agree anyone making up stories that it is need to stop. Especially if they make ppl excited for a product that dosnt even have said features yet. It will only make ppl not want to play.

exactly. the more kids there are making stuff up, the more people will come on and expect some TDM firefight game where you constantly handcuff people and where somehow their opponent misses and they don't

 

my point with all of this shit is that rather than making up shit they should actually help by looking for bugs, and get out of balota (where, amazingly, all of these stories are set. a big coincidence that right? it's because these guys run to balota after going the wrong way and alt-tabbing to a map 50 times, then get shot and rage out, and make up a story with the opposite outcome of what happened, which leads to wild claims like shotguns already being ingame.

I'm under 17 and I've been playing for just over a year and a member of the forums for almost exactly a year, so you can't say that about every person under 17, sometimes age doesn't matter when it comes to how mature a person is.

embellish the story make it dramatic, but stick with in the confines of the environment. My clan has a battle reports thread where we share stories either straight up factual or with some creativity thrown in to make good reading but they are all based on in game events.
