Tape Recorders- You can record your voice into it and let whoever finds your body listen. I love this idea. Related is a suggestion about being able to broadcast to people from Green Mountain. I think that if it is only for people with radios (walkie talkies would not realistically reach across Chernarus) and people could turn their radio off as to avoid the music and gibberish that would inevitably come through.Skills- It is established that life must have value and skills have been suggested. My take is that we should start with no skills and somehow acquire them.Handcuffs- I think handcuffs need a buff so that, you know, they actually work and people have to take a good minute or two to struggle free. After all, only one of us is Batman.I understand that badly damaged handcuffs are much easier to break out of than pristine ones, but they need to up the spawn rate of pristine ones so that you can acquire them.Blood types-If we want anyone to ever use blood bags instead of saying "Why bother when I could use 5000 blood saline" then we REALLY need to make it easier to determine blood type. Here is my suggestion- you know your blood type on spawn. Seriously, how do you NOT know this? You could say amnesia, but really? Anyway, it would be very good gameplay wise. Imagine some scenarios- There are some blood bandits who hold you up and take your blood. They ask another player's blood type and say that if they tell them the wrong type then they will kill him. So, he will likely comply. But what if he doesn't, does the bandit have a test kit? Chances, chances... And besides, saline overshadows blood too much right now. This would probably include recording and saving the voice as a sound file, which might lag up the server considering it's a big change from just saving text files. Skills Eh, I've made posts on this before, too big of a project. - Handcuffs Yeah, I agree, I don't have much experience using them, but if what you say is true then it should be upped. - Bloodtypes Definitely, and not just make it easier to determine blood types, but also reduce the conflicts that might happen because of different blood types being transfused. Leaving an audio journal or a message for your killer (or someone who found your corpse that was mauled by zombies). However due to the network overhead involved, I doubt we'll see anything like it implemented. Now the radio broadcast from Green Mountain to anyone with a radio is pretty cool and could work actually. You're not storing audio files to be sent and retrieved from a server. It's just a VOIP multicast to anyone with a radio :) Neat idea actually. -I don't think Rocket will ever implement skills. It just goes against what he wants this game to be (and the majority of the playerbase). I also would prefer to never see skills in this game. I really don't think it fits with the hyper-realism this game is all about. Just my personal opinion. There are both people who support this idea and do not support it. -Never used or been in handcuffs (yet). Can't really comment here. -I actually don't know my blood type. That's just my horrible memory though. I definitely knew it 6 years ago when my son was born, but have since forgotten. So not everyone knows their blood type. HOWEVER. I don't see anything wrong with an ID system in this game. Someone mentioned an idea of people having personal identifications on them of some sort (like a drivers license). And it could include blood type! Unless Rocket wants to stick with the whole testing thing. And like you mentioned Saline bags are currently the way to go (and I find more of them than the pieces necessary for blood testing anyway). So really I'd take any change in this department, or we can leave it as is. Doesn't bother me either way. Make us able to write notes instead.Skills- Not a good idea, the only skill should come directly from the players mind and not be given to you.Handcuffs- Should be rare to find. lets use a rope or something insteadBlood types- Make bloodtests more common to find at a hospital, In real life everyone doesnt know their blood type. It's not just about learning the system, while that is one aspect, it's also about the actual difficulty in doing it. Like I've said, what if the person you're playing with has an incompatible bloodtype/rhesus factor? As far as I can see, there isn't any easy way of getting out of that. Blood transfusions were one of the only things that brought players together, and by complicating it you might drive people away. While realism is nice, we have to respect gameplay as well. I guess your plan to lead the attack fell apart eh? About the ideas: Tape recorder - I don't really have a strong opinion on that one. Might be fun / funny for a while, but it would lose it's shine pretty quick I'd guess.Skills - as a lone wolf player, as long as players aren't limited to only one skill, I'm fine with this too.Cuffs - I actually like the way they're implemented right now. As a bandit, you don't have the luxury of just cuffing someone and then letting your guard down, I prefer that.Blood types - I agree, knowing your in game blood type from the start would be nice. Or at a minimum, replace one of the bandages in a med kit with a tester. That way you have everything you need for the transfusion in one place (other than the disifectant).
