What stops you from logging out if you are being robbed?

Shooting someone from far apart if you dont kill him right away, nothing stops the person from leaving the server and going to another one, also, this just hapened to me, i bumped into a guy in a town, tryed to make contact without sucess he dropped on the floor and starts imitating a cat over the microphone, i keep trying to make contact with him, then 2m after his friend pops up with a gun poited at my head trying to steal me, so i just logged out before they could cuff me or kill me, now, i dont think what i did its fair, but if i can, why wont i? Did they already announce what they gona make to prevent this? I know the a cuffed char will die if logs out, but what in these situations?

You are shitty for doing that. Yes, I am sure there will be a logout timer and hopefully some sort of check to make sure no one is around you.

logging is not cool dude, you say why would you not an i say why would you? its a a game, play it dont log when its not going how you want it to have fun with it, get to know your robbers if they didnt kill on sight its a good sign

I think its hilarious how people can try and take the moral high ground on this over the forum yet when i am in game and i shoot a group of people literally everyone i have fought with since getting the game has logged out, i dont see how with all these people claiming they do not log out i have never encountered one of them.

Hmmmm i agree with all off you honestly, this is something that shouldnt be done, just like killing bambies, or sniping people for 0 reason, or camping areas for free kills for hours and hours, then again, if nothing is there to stop it from happening theres really no reason not to do it, i get the part it kills the fun, then again, killed the fun "for them" who were probably gona have the time of their live with me over a cantil of water and some cans of food, and then again i didnt avoid contact, tryed to make it, i went there, stood quiet trying to engage in chat and 0 response, never played Dayz Mod, and have this game for like 3 days, all i am curious is what in the mod used to have to stop this kinda things or what they announced that they will put ( and i know you guys think i suck for what i did, but, in a alpha where you have no aims atm, and where everyone is playing has this call of duty, i saw no reason to let myself be killed after i spent the last 2h running to get where i was)

Atm the only prevention for combat logging right now is.. Don't be a logger. Why combat log just because you can? lol. As already stated it takes out the fun. What i don't get is you are asking/demanding for something to prevent combat loggings. But you just did it, to prove what exactly, that it's pretty irritating ? (lawlz). But to answer it, its already been addressed that combat logging won't be possible on release. This is still Alpha mate! Loggers is the least of Rockets team worries :-)

I don't log off if my opponent gets the upper hand on me.

 

Last night i was passing Balota Airfield and heard gunshots, i though well lets see what poor bastard is getting shot.

When i saw a guy with one of the white masks i put up my Mosin and lid him up.

 

(To note i shot geared players with those damn masks, if you wear those there is something wrong with you and i don't trust you one bit)

 

His friends did not like that very much and came after me guns blazing.

I ran as fast as i could in a north west direction towards the high apartment buildings north of Cherno.

On the way i dropped off my Backpack and some other things to look different so they might not recognize me.

I entered one of the buildings and went up the ladder but i was still being followed.

So i took of the Long range scope off from my Mosin on the stairs and turned around

and shot the Mask wearing guy in the face.

He logged off immediately which made his body disappear, (they really need to fix that.)

 

After that i made my way north to resupply. It was a epic encounter and no one Combat logged.

Just the after being killed grief logging so they don't get their loot from winning the fight.

I play the game for the interaction with other people and that includes being robbed. It's those memories that stick and make a game special, not having the best gear evar in my eyes.

Its very easy, Not trying to prove anything, like i said i am new to the game, apart for whats in the game i dont know anything about it, I am not the type of player that will just logout every encounter or everytime something like this happens, i did it because this time i really didnt feel like spending a couple hours putting gear up again, and since i did it, means everyone can do it, just really wanted to know if there was incoming measures to stop it to turn game more fun, thats all

I think its just morals that stop you (maybe not you.. :p) from combat logging.

 

Hopefully something will be added in to remove this. The epoch mod wouldn't allow you to log out within the proximity of other players, maybe something like that would be good?

he's not really being that shitty, the other guys had already exploited the system by having a friend log in fully kitted out. he was just getting away fairly from them.

Future updates will get rid of this and tone down server hopping. Other things are more important for now though. I guess we'll see measures to combat these in a few months tops. Unless barrels of tears are shed and tumultuous petitions signed.  I kidd. Hopefully its patched soon.

Nothing is physically stopping you, but soon there will be incentive not to (kill if you logged out in this situation ect). Currently, there is only your own mind stopping you. Be a decent guy and don't log out.
