Rocket in holiday doesn't mean nothing happens

I read almost every thread here in the GD forum and there is something I just don't get.

 

A lot of people stating a bug or making suggestions say stuff like that:

 

"Rocket you made 5.000.000$ and now you make vacation, please work on the game"

"Rocket you said there will be Vehicles"

"Rocket do something about server hopping"

 

Why people think just because he is having 4 weeks holiday, nothing is going to happen in the game ? There is whole company and dev team behind him, he is probably just some kind of consultant. I am sure they are working very hard right now. 

 

How many guys actually believe Rocket is doing the work all alone, you think this guy is walking on the water ?

You can't give full transparency because this encourage even more rage. As I remember there is a thread of rocket himself stating every problem in the current version and we still get tons of threads / posts about the same issue.

 

Apparently there is a patch next week fixing a lot of stuff, maybe even combat logging.

And where did you hear the patch was due next week? It was actually due 4 days ago and we haven't heard a word about except that it wasn't going to happen.

I think you need to pay more attention to Twitter son... There have been people working over the Christmas holiday to fix stuff. Patch is being tested on the experimental servers as we speak so there's nothing saying that we won't be getting a patch in the coming week.

I worked with a mod group of pro artists, programmers and animators who had been working on a full conversion mod for 6 years. All their free time was spent on it and they liked it, but it was a fuck ton of work. There were crunches and stressful points. These were serious people who programmed stuff like an in-game mission/map browser menu with description and previews and automatic downloader/installer so you could play a mission (sneak game) right then and there. Net coding and all. They released new versions frequently, but some people would still be saying stuff like, "Can't you incompetent people hurry the hell up?". Annoying. Ignorance isn't always bliss.

And I'd say, yes, after getting out the Alpha, doing 2 patches in the first few days alone, they have deserved, and well deserved, their Christmas/New-Years holiday. It is not like they are doing something so important they could'nt operate on a bare minimum team, or even have a general holiday, around Christmas. They do not deliver the electricity our civilization runs on, they are not the firefighters, or have to keep a hospital for the sick and injured running. They just have to tend for the released game. Be content with it people.

Of course they deserves holidays, but don't forget that they sell this game exactly on same fucking time $$$, and this not look professional to me. You see how many things this patchs really does? That what is dumb and ridiculous, and the most important thing, this entire money don't go be vested on game, probably they continue with the same equip and with the same frequency of solutions (slow).

If anything Rocket and all the others working on this game deserves a vacation. When they come back they will be well rested and ready.
