idea with eating food

i dont know if this was mentioned, but when u eat food could your character eat exact percentage of food so he is full ?

u could chose, eat food until full, or eat a little (when u dont have very much food and u want to share with somebody)

Uh... Each food element has "uses" and each full bite consumes 25% in cans, 10% in rice/cereal/powdered milk. It is unknown what percentage of hunger and energy each bite and each time of food restores.

yes, a 'eat all' button would be nice for any canned good.

Good idea.

 

As in real life, you generally eat until you have satiated your hunger.

Either that or you become a fat b*****d.

well i think u realize how hungry you are in real life, so if game wants to be realistic...

I think its just annoying to spam click it 5 times to eat one can...

I agree to add a "Eat whole can" if it takes 4x as usual to eat it then. Also remember that cooking actual food and hunting will be added soon and I am really sure that cooked food and meat will restore WAY more than cans.

and u could balance it by eating the can longer if u are eating it whole. (no metal)

The site says it handle the SA of Dayz, but items listed iam sure they not ig yet. Did they just took it from the modification or elected some *.ini?

yeah agreed eat all would be nice and just have the animation loop as many times as the item consumes for balance as then least im not clicking it then waiting to click again, not very intuitive!

I wish there was a little more of a definite way to roughly how hungry or thirsty you are. Am I one can of beans hungry or half a can of tuna hungry?

The point of the system is to never let your character get hungry. Eat & drink regularly and you'll never see the hunger messages again. If you're waiting to be hungry, you're doing it wrong in my opinion.

I was going to post this exact thing. There should be an option to eat until full on every food you can eat. This would A: Eat until you were full and stop, or B: Eat the entire item if your max has not been reached.

 

This is simple, and quite frankly it's how people really eat! I don't sit and eat exactly 25% of something.

thats how would auto fill up would help, like in real life, u eat until u dont feel hungry.

That's the thing with this hunger system, the hungry icon going away doesn't mean you should stop eating.

 

Also, I don't think it should just auto eat items from your inventory. An option to eat the entire item, sure, but there's strategy to what you eat, I don't want that automated.

 

In real life, I don't usually stop eating when I'm no longer hungry. I'll eat more so I can go longer before I'm hungry again. Not so much that I feel stuffed and lazy, but more than just satisfying my hunger cravings. Otherwise I'd be snacking all day every day.

I know how the system works. My character is healthy and every time I eat I have to waste my time with those annoying animations of him putting the food away every frickin bite. It's stupid and a waste of my time. I might have been unclear but I would want a system like the one you stated. I click an item and my character eats the whole can until he's full or the can is empty. I will then have to click another can to start eating again. I'm fine with that.

 

On to your second point. IRL you shouldn't over eat bro. Maybe you want to go longer between meals but it's actually better for your metabolism to eat smaller and more often. 

 

Back to the game, I think this is exactly how the mechanics should work. I feel like right now, it takes too many cans to fill your stomach. I think it should be smaller, but empty faster. You should be eating often, but fill it up quickly. I shouldn't have to sit and eat 3 cans of tuna and 3-4 cans of beans and still not be full. That is ridiculous. I would be happy with a 2 cans of tuna, or a can of beans to be satified or "full". After say 10-15 min you should be hungry again, especially if you are running or sprinting around.

eat all.. definitely 

 

You know when you've been sprinting for quite some time that your going to be wanting to skull a canteen and eat the whole can of spaghetti before or afterward.

 

Thought I'd add that I think its great that we now have our well being to think about (with a lot more to consider to come I assume).
It's added a lot to the game in my opinion ..feature for some; annoyance for others etc

Not a bad idea at all, I know when I sit down to eat I generally eat 100% of my food then decide if I'd like more or not.

If your snacking every half hour then I'm going to have to say your doing it wrong, I will loot a small town and carry off every can of food and box of cereal/rice I can carry. Then I'll eat it all until I'm either full or healthy, top it off with some water. Once that's done I'll occasionally pick up cans of food but never carry more then 4 and eat them somewhere quite.. in the woods, with the trees drinking cans of soda to celebrate my cowardice.

Actually satiation isn't felt until about ten minutes after you've eaten enough. We're lucky to even have that mechanism, really. Other animals eat until there's no food left, so they literally just gorge themselves...

Would have to agree on implementing an "eat all" function... untill food becomes more scarce there is no reason to ration food by only eating percentages of each can...
