So I was banned from the dayz mod and I still dont know why, but I just wanted to know if in standalone that ban will carry over from the dayzmod.

DayZ SA is a stand along game title. 

The mod is made off Arma 2 . Totally unrelated 

 

That said. DayZ SA is VAC secured. Which means your entire steam account could get banned.

Not exactly true. VAC bans are per engine. So a ban in DayZ would not prevent you from playing css. Example: CS:S runs on the hl2 engine just as DOD:S. If you are banned in CS:S you are also banned in DOD:S and all hl2 games, you still can play hl1 games (CS 1.6 for example)

VAC bans are per game, engine bans are only for Valve source games afaik (you can play MW3 with MW2 VAC banned for example and you can play CS:GO with CS:S banned).
