PhilB 230 Posted December 23, 2013 With a view in mind that everything in life has its counter-- I always have a mini anxiety attack whenever, wherever I spawn. Even in the remotest of areas, there's that tiny chance another dude happens to be near. This is increased now that my character makes the gun reloading sound when I spawn in. I've been around that new military base south of Vybor/Kabanino. One can sit inside the "headquaters" building and wait in ambush for the server hoppers. Simply kneel your character with his back against a wall so that no one can spawn behind you. The other players so quickly lose their sense of caution they will walk right into your ironsights like AI. For all the benefit these hopper dipshits get for cruisin' for loot like that, what a stupid move! If anyone wants to combat server hopping and pick up a haul of easy loot, just hang around a good loot spot and kill server hoppers as they spawn in. If the server hoppers are gonna do what they do, then hang in the good spots and take 'em out as they come, it is so easy, you are in the defensive position, the advantage is yours. Post if you disagree. Or if you are already adopting this playstyle as I have. :)
Aussie Bogan 350 Posted December 23, 2013 Interesting theory But i guess not everyone has time to wait for someone to spawn in. ;)
octarine 60 Posted December 23, 2013 More notches for your epeen. Whatever floats your boat, seems a bit lame to me, if you are truly into pvp, wouldn't you want a challenge? Your way seems tedious and boring frankly. Even in Wasteland, camping held no attraction for me.

DefoneESP 17 Posted December 23, 2013 I do this sometimes, had pretty good success i tend to hang out at the military post west of Strary, i did a run through the barracks first, got almost a full head to toe set, then i waited for about 5min and BAM! my first hopper, took him out, got the gas mask, ballistic helmet and a fully decked out M4 (red dot, RIS rail, bayonet, Magpul buttstock), and some russian camo pants server hopping is back with a vengence sadly, but with the bugs and random character wipes (this is alpha) it doesnt matter all that much
weparo 613 Posted December 23, 2013 Interesting theory But i guess not everyone has time to wait for someone to spawn in. ;) Acctually you really don't have to wait that long if you have a bit of luck. It's pretty cool but I'm always so nervous around millitary bases that I never stay long
PhilB 230 Posted December 23, 2013 They pop in like . . . something. In fact, if one hangs at that military base near Stary/Vyvor/Kab you'll see server hoppers every ten minutes on average, NO EXAGGERATION! The server hoppers pop in like server hoppers. It is so common it redefines the meaning of frequency!

Your way seems tedious and boring frankly. Even in Wasteland, camping held no attraction for me. It is boring and tedious. I lose patience rather quickly. I like roaming. I'm just saying if any players want to punish these dudes there is a really easy way, and you get good loot for it!
mphilippa 43 Posted December 23, 2013 Was lucky enough to come across someone combat logging into a server. Was just making my way into elektro near the barn to the NW when a guy spawned right in front of me pissing blood. Naturally I helped the poor fella pass into the next life honourably as he bandaged.
monolith1985 109 Posted December 23, 2013 nearly got killed by a server hopper, had just cleared elektro fire station, had been watching the roof, while my friend was on it, went to move on and got shot on the street, ran around a corner and passed out, he had no idea my friend was there, even though he was running around moments before, so my friend went up the ladder, but since it unequipped his weapon he just started punching the guy, who turned round and shot him. a few seconds later, the server restarted, and we survived :D
broguenz 333 Posted December 23, 2013 So someone logs out and logs back in sometime later and they're a server hopper? Yes It would be a bit dumb to log out in a potentially busy area and not expect attention when you come back in. Camping isn't any further up the moral high ground though.

Hetstaine 10852 Posted December 23, 2013 Seen a stack of them when i was on the hospital roof at the new mil area above Kamenka. Pop in,turn their flashlight on and begin looting, then magically pop out again. Six in about twenty minutes. Two people, can totally pin that area down and take them out. Going to be some fun nights ahead with my partner shooting hoppers. Assholes :)
