Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

* [NEW] Player Syncing system replaced (increased performance and ammo quantity tracking)

Could we have rare ammunition spawn at deer stands/barracks/hangers? (bizon/svdcamo/fn fal/M107/Rockets/M240/)

The weapons are rare enough, but the ammunition rarity makes those weapons disposable or not enough of a conscience choice to pick up and use over a more common available weapon such as the AKM or M-series assault rifles.

2 more issues if you don't mind, I drive around a vehicle and rush and drop off right outside a supermarket but nothing spawns except zeds the moment I step out.

Unless I stop the vehicle 100metres or further away do items spawn in said supermarket making the vehicle more of a hindrance than help.

Last thing I have a problem with is vehicles are incredibly fragile...a Truck with 6 wheels travelling at 2kmh and touching any 'trash barricade' would result in engine and 2 front wheels critical damage yet I can with the same truck knock down a tree with impunity. I've cleared out entire forests with my truck only to have some of the trash on the roads and those low stone walls scattered about the wilderness break my truck. Land vehicles are incredibly fragile and need to be rebalanced.

I also wouldn't mind if I could use spare scrap metal to to add 'armor' to my vehicle.

Engine parts to turbo charge my vehicle giving it more offroad capability at the expense of fuel usage.

Fuel tank parts to increase the size of my fuel tank up to a certain limit.

Maybe if it is possible, allow my teammates from inside the vehicle or open top trucks to be able to shoot while inside.

Edit: I know I am asking for A LOT here, but a slight nod to this post would mean much to me and my friends as we actively search out vehicles very hard and try to make it a bigger game rather than a run and gun and kill the crap out of everyone we meet situation. I also understand this will probably take alot of time to complete.

- i make no sound that anything around me can hear (Zeds or players confirmed by friend)

-all zombies despawned

-all loot despawned

-No military grade looting buildings present, Im at Berezino, the military don't exist and neither do any of the surrounding deer stands. 

-certain servers i get stuck on the black screen that says "Loading" and the small progress bar fills. The screen doesn't go down and i can hear ambient sounds and Zeds walking around me, but no sounds made when trying to move or shoot my weapon.

Myself and many others were randomly teleported to a barren waste' date=' which on the map was like 100 miles NW of the main map. I'm currently running back, but after an hour I'm still quite far away. :)

Is this a different issue then debug forest I'm guessing?

I submitted a bug for this, seems Zombies do not spawn unless you're walking.

Rocket please fix tents reappearing on every server restart even if they have been taken down, this has to be my fourth time posting this.

So we are not going to have a patch until Monday to fix the debug forest spawning? If I walk away from the forest I just spawn back there next time I log in so I can't just walk toward mainland, making this game unplayable until it's fixed. Anyone have a way to fix this? (I don't care if I have to lose items or anything)

Well in my opinion this should not be done, I kinda like the hopelessness and despair that comes with having no gun to start with + unarmed players are more likely to join up until they have some weapons and after that they can decide if they want to shoot each other in the face or continue their short co-operative adventure + You wont get shot in the face right after you respawend by somebody else who just respawned.

I mean come on think about it, a wise man once told me

"In your limits you will find your freedom"

Think creative and btw you can find a weapon almost everywhere and don't forget about the melee weapons, they are easily found near starting area's.

Target date is Monday. Backup is for Saturday during offpeak time.

The update will include some new functionality. Currently' date=' it includes some leftover fixes from the end of 1.7.1

But I will be updating the progress here. 1.7.1.5 will remain all weekend, unless something serious happens.

This is the completed changelog so far:

* [FIXED] Animal AI routines consuming large amounts of FPS (now in line with Infected AI routines, reduced FPS usage)

How are those new mo-capped infected running animations coming along? We noticed you implemented new animations for the hoppers (they look much better by the way) but I'm sure you said the regular infected were getting new animations too right?

Not sure if it's the Arma 2 or DayZ but direct chat doesn't seem to be working. I've not had any luck with communications getting through, so it essentially devolves into combat or silent partnerships (which are futile).

If the appropriate people could fix that then that would be awesome.

The amount of updates is awesome. But could you possibly just a like a 50 or 100 meter bubble around players that prevents zombies from spawning. I can see them spawn 300 meters away which is great that way when I come up to a town I can scout it out from a distance. But if I kill a bunch of zombies its incredibly unrealistic for them to spawn 20 meters away in x amount of time. Let them spawn a ways away that way when you cleared out an area and one stumbles upon you it feels more realistic. You can say to yourself damn I should've seen that zed coming. Not damn these spawn rates.

Only thing I can think of is the rarity of weapons now. Out of 20ish tree stands I looted, only 3 had weapons. Two of those weapon spawns didn't have ammo.

Food is also super rare, although once you get matches (LOLOL so rare) you can easily feed yourself.

The broken bones suck, but this is DayZ... Time to nut up. I make sure to loot the hospital in whatever area I am in and I go out of my way to find them. I think a lot of people need to mix up their play style now.

Every server I go on has nothing but junk for 1.7.1.5. Whiskey bottles/tins, chemlights, flares, bandages, soda cans, shotgun pellets everywhere and a not a hell of a lot else. Firestations, churches, apartment buildings and supermarkets entirely empty, not to mention zombies phaseshifting and attacking through walls. LOS also doesn't seem to affect a thing. Zombies still have spidey senses and still manage to break bones and make me bleed out from several hits or less, through walls too as I just mentioned.

What's with the morphine and broken bones?

2nd that....:huh:

2nd that too... the frequent broken bones + lack of morphine make the melee weapons obsolete in my opinion. I am better off with running away then using my axe at the moment because of this. Theres simply no reason to use the melee weapon when ur bones get broken almost every time and end up beeing an easy victim for everyone around :(

Please Rocket turn the zombies less hardcore, it´s impossible enter a city without all zombies behind me... Before was too easy, now is too hard, you need to make it balanced.

kinda the point i think, i try to imagine this looking like Walking Dead and the city is just one big death trap. If still easy for me and 5 friends to barrel down the street as a grp so i can understand why 1 person has such a hard time.

1.7.1.5 has been amazing. The only bug I've ran across so far is flies. I am almost constantly hearing flies, even when there is no corpse around. I don't actually mean "constantly", but very, very often. I don't know if this has been reported yet, or if it's just me. Cheers!

Will the fix to spawning in debug forest be retroactive or will we have to respawn and lose everything on us? Thanks for the consistent updates, Rocket! <3

If you look this like Walking Dead you will see that in TWD the zombies doesn´t have this freaking eagle eye and superman´s audition :D
