Uphill running

Should it be added? Right now it looks to me as if I was going for a sunday walk (or less)

You need to take angles when running up hill rather than taking the hill head on.  This will allow you to keep sprinting while gaining ground uphill faster.

Unfortunately this.

This is one of the features that I had hoped would have been changed from the mod to SA. Hopefully it will be changed in the future, allowing you to run uphill (at the cost of more energy of course).

I understand and have been doing this from the start of arma 2. That doesn't mean that it's not downright ridiculous that you cannot run uphill a little bit.

I'd love to see you guys run up a 70 Degree slope in real life, funny stuff.

This is where I stand, while I do not mind the idea of taking a slightly faster pace head on with hills.  I like the fact my character is not a cyborg and cannot just barrel up a mountain side without taking a sweat.

If you don't realize, most hills in DayZ aren't 70 degree angles and present a slope that any normal person could run up. You aren't going to go amazingly fast, and you're gonna be very tired when you reach the top, but you sure as hell aren't going to have to walk up them.

It doesn't happen on steep inclines only though. It happens on very slight inclines as well, which is what's irritating. That and you're either sprinting or walking around taking in the sights. There's no middle-ground "jogging" or anything of the sort.

Until they implement a "stamina" system or a "thirst/hunger depletes faster if you sprint constantly" type of mechanic, the player needs to be able to negotiate hills.

My thoughts exactly.

Yes because all hills in DayZ are 70 degree slopes aren't they ? seriously contribute something useful ...hes making a very valid point about running up hills.
