dimitriuk 10 Posted December 20, 2013 I was thinking, everybody likes to communicate. It is one of the most important roles in everything, especially DayZ. I was suggesting that, there should be a "Whisper Direct Communication" option. It works by a 1 meter radius trigger. An EXAMPLE scenario:A man is being robbed by 3 bandits. The 3 bandits don't even know eachother, they just met walking a long and decided to form a team and become bandits. NOW, what if I wanted to kill the person we was robbing, but wanted to discuss it with my buddies first. They would both come up to me, and I would begin using the Whispering Direct Communication by switching channel by pressing > or <.It's simple stuff like this that can make the DayZ a much better experience. If you agree with me, please reply and let's try and get this thread out to Dean Hall. (Rocket) We all know he is a busy man, and he has done us a good job and has dealt with the recent and current bugs with rapid speed.Thank you.

GOD™ 2795 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) EDIT: Not really needed, but could [possibly] be implemented waaay way down the line. Edited December 20, 2013 by GOD™
Gaz ツ 3 Posted December 20, 2013 You have my beans. I have thought of this before and was wishing they would implement it in Arma.
*Exile* Sami 188 Posted December 20, 2013 Hm, this actually sounds like a great job, or maybe an option to walk up to someone and use a key option to directly open chat with just them.
h3retic 224 Posted December 20, 2013 acre/ace mod for arma 2 has a very neat system for changing volume of the direct coms. i hope that kind of thing will see light in the standalone as well.
Rayth 12 Posted December 20, 2013 This feature has existed for over twelve years on Ultima Online. If you are within a one-tile radius of another player, you can hear their whispered text, but step away and it wouldn't appear on screen. This would be an awesome feature to put in place. Would be a great way to communicate in game when trying to maintain cover without being overheard, as well as a ton of other applications such as in situations like the one you described. Gwraspe 318 Posted December 20, 2013 good idea, i like it. there are a number of situations ive been in where this would have come in handy and lead to a more, let's say, comfortable conclusion.
Skyelur 57 Posted December 20, 2013 Sounds great and useful with the hostage features

Just I'm trying to say that this little feature that can probably be done very easily could make the game so much better. I've done lots of games designing. It would be a simple matter of; Adding a new COMM to the character controller, comm can only transmit within 1 meter, bla bla, you know what I'm trying to point out. At the end of the day it's Alpha. So I can't protest, etc... I just the developers to see this idea.
jBrick 116 Posted December 20, 2013 Its called Teamspeak or some version of it.... Not that I want to rain on this parade but if you trusted 2 other bandits you weren't on a voice program with you probably won't survive very long. That being said, I think encrypted radio's that only your crew can hear is making it into the game at some point, but if one of your boys loses the radio... you could have a big issue.... not sure though. This hostage is under pressure from the bandits. He doesn't really have a choice. The group could discuss to let him go, or to kill him. But yes, radios (walkie talkies) sounds good. In fact, that sounds like a brilliant idea. I didn't even think about that. As for the Teamspeak part, these are two players that I don't know and are just strangers in the world that I've only known for half an hour remember. We wouldn't be on teamspeak, hence we wouldn't want to Alt + Tab just to go on teamspeak.
Horatio 22 Posted December 20, 2013 Great idea, it'd actually fit the Realism, as you'd be able to yell, whisper and talk :P
GanjaPalooza 35 Posted December 20, 2013 Nice one, I would like to see something like this implemented.
liquidcactus 719 Posted December 20, 2013 Indeed I have thought of this concept many a time myself and I dig it good... Though I know you are only speculating, I'm thinnking say a 3-5 meter whisper space should be valid, regardless pretty good idea
