Metaphoria 0 Posted December 19, 2013 I would like to know if the standalone is based on Arma 2 engine or the Arma 3 engine, the reason I ask is because I had alot of problem with Arma 2 and DayZ but not with Arma 3 so before purchasing it I would like to know if I get the same kind of problems. klesh 2423 Posted December 19, 2013 I would like to know if the standalone is based on Arma 2 engine or the Arma 3 engine Neither. It is a heavily modified version of the Take on Helicopters engine, which itself is a heavily modified version of the Arma2 engine.
Skat3rat 1633 Posted December 19, 2013 What problems did you have with Arma 2? FPS problems or something else?

terrvik 2409 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) So if I had issues on Arma 2, do you think I would have issues on the SA? Was the issues with Arma 2 itself or with the DayZ mod?EDIT: Sort of answered in the first post, just making sure. :) Edited December 19, 2013 by Terrorviktor
Metaphoria 0 Posted December 19, 2013 : I had this issue where the game screen would suddenly go black after some play time, I could still hear sound and walk around, shoot etc. my computer didn't freeze or anything so I could just alt tab and close the game, so I was worried I might have that issue if got the standalone. I googled your problem and people were saying that it was either your graphics card wasn't up to date, or you were playing on too high of settings. I'm not sure if that problem would carry over to SA.
kevsta545 451 Posted December 19, 2013 Shouldn't be a problem, the whole graphical stuff has been completely reworked I believe in SA.
Metaphoria 0 Posted December 19, 2013 Glad to hear that, I tried all of that. I have the latest drivers and I don't have this problem in any other game ever played on my computer including Arma 3. I guess i'll just have to try the game out.
