hunger seems to be fixed but you start thirsty and it cannot be quenched, even when you get the "my thirst has been quenched" you get the insta- "you are thirsty". how can this not be picked up in the internal test is beyond me.

 

what a let down, as this is one of the showstoppers killing the enjoyment.

Just find a watter bottle or canteen. If you're just thirsty it shouldn't affect you at all. When you start dehydrating is the real problem.

 

Also you should have more than enough time to get a soda at least before you start dehydrating.

Not all fixes made it in to this build, as its only been 24 hours we're being very safe. The main purpose of this patch was to ensure we had a good process for testing and rolling the patch out to the thousands of servers without bringing the whole network down.

Same here. Report it just to be safe.

If this were even close to the truth of the several lives I've lived I wouldn't be so bothered by it. Spawned in Kamenka, found absolutely nothing in any house I searched, went unconscious and died halfway through Komarovo after the two drinks I found did nothing. Respawned near Elektro, found more Payday masks then drinks. Once my vision went blurry I never found enough food or drink to stop it. Went unconscious and died searching houses for more drinks. Respawned near Balota, found nothing to drink went unconscious near the apartments north of the airfield less than an hour after spawning. Gonna stay logged out and unconscious until they patch it and I can get a friend to come force feed me something.

 

There's also a very valid point to a person finding that the Alpha they bought is not just an Alpha but completely unplayable and wanting to complain. Alpha should not have the chance for a person to spawn and have zero chance of surviving their first hour when they are not even playing the game but desperately searching for drinks the entire time. If you lucked out and found enough to drink, great. If you spent your entire life not finding enough to keep yourself alive more than an hour I think that's a valid complaint. I'm not even mad, just bummed that it wasn't released in a playable state. Looking forward to some kind of update on this one so I can play my favorite game.

I think I know why. Some foods actually add to hydration according to a post on another topic. So its possible that little bit of hydration added from foods like sardines was all you needed to be not thirsty.

And maybe other foods make you dehydrated. Maybe fizzy drinks do. Go experiment, stop looking for answers on forums. You wouldn't look for the plot of a film before you see it.

Are you running around the entire time? I've been on multiple servers with multiple lives and I've found drinks fine. Only problem I had was unconsious bug, which is now fixed. So unless you're sprinting the entire time from when you spawn or you just don't know how to search for items, I don't know what to tell you.

So unless you're sprinting the entire time from when you spawn or you just don't know how to search for items, I don't know what to tell you.

When I hit a town and every door is open on every building and they contain nothing it ends up with a wasted hour or more ending with me dying of dehydration. I guess my character, while looking fit, is actually a 500 lb smoker who can't walk more than a few miles without keeling over dead.

I have been playing for 5 hours now never found can opener, any other suggestion? Currently my bags are filled with tuna which I can open.

But honestly if I was hungry I would smash my beans on a rock to open it....... This is something that can be easily fixed.

I'm trying to help you, not saying that it's something that shouldn't be fixed. Go find a water pump (if you can't find one then you're really not trying) and drink a lot from it. If you really want I'll come on whatever server you're on and give you a water bottle if you're still having problems with that

I literally had to go up to a well and drink out of it 10-15 times before my thirst was quenched. Dayz avatars are basically camels lol
