piffaroni 13 Posted December 17, 2013 I am sorry, but as a customer, I feel I am being nickle and dimed to death, for example, I paid $60 for arma 2, to play dayz 1 year ago, which has been alpha for over a year 1 year later, I pay $30 to get stand alone alpha. So I have spent $90 and 2 alpha games, and seems like nothing has been fixed... if anything, they SA is WORSE then the MOD, which is not good business,
joelR (DayZ) 3 Posted December 17, 2013 Its just an alpha.
diddums 3760 Posted December 17, 2013 You chose to pay for a game know that it's an Alpha. What's your point?

piffaroni 13 Posted December 17, 2013 You chose to pay for a game know that it's an Alpha. What's your point?point is, after over a year of development, the 2nd "alpha" is worse then the first,...
-Se7eN- 874 Posted December 17, 2013 of course standalone is worse than the mod... its just been released. you chose to buy arma 2, dayz cost you nothing. so you didnt pay anything for that alpha. this alpha how ever you did pay for, if they wanted to they could have kept the game behind closed doors for another year or two while they finished it but instead they give the community the opertunity to play it while its in its development stage for half the price.
Tr1x 53 Posted December 17, 2013 Arma 2 wasn't an alpha and was easily worth $60, that game is fun once you get into it. I also bought it just to play DayZ, but I found myself playing the original game just as much. And this here is a standalone game, that you just saved $30 on. A while from now when it's fully released and your having a blast running around like a drunken madman smacking everything that moves with your axe, you're gonna be glad you bought it
-Se7eN- 874 Posted December 17, 2013 point is, after over a year of development, the 2nd "alpha" is worse then the first,...because they are two different games, one is a bolt on of arma 2, the other one is built from the ground up specifically for DayZ
kingochaos 131 Posted December 17, 2013 the amount o times its been said, and reiterated, by rocket... NOT TO BUY the alpha, because of its state was ridiculous.. He was saying this for people like yourself... who have brought a cheap game, in alpha, expecting a final release.. i thought it was silly at the time, but people like your self keep proving me wrong.

Lukey2k 13 Posted December 17, 2013 WHY U SELL ALPHA GAME TWO TIME ROCKET WAAA. OH WAIT. Dayz Mod for arma was free! So I never actually bought two alpha games, because Arma 2 isnt Alpha! I paid $60 for arma 2 = NOT ALPHA.I pay $30 to get stand alone alpha. <- Key word! So I have spent $90 and 2 alpha games, and seems like nothing has been fixed... - NOPE! Just the one :D if anything, they SA is WORSE then the MOD, which is not good business, - Picture refrence go!

Zombie Jesus 723 Posted December 17, 2013 1. Why did you pay that much for Arma 2, show some restraint next time and wait for a Steam Sale. 2. You are literally complaining about it being in Alpha on day one of the actual Alpha. The mod was the mod, this is the standalone. At least wait a month and if you are coming into the game with this attitude wait for the proper release and possibly catch it on sale further down the road. Or you could take door number two (which you have obviously decided to do already) and buy an early release game on the first day and instantly post about how you are tired of hearing that the game is in Alpha.
linfosoma 38 Posted December 17, 2013 I really dont get, the description of the game on Steam is not an actual description of the game but a warning explaining what you should expect from this alpha. I know reading is annoying sometimes but next time before you spend $30 on a game you should perhaps consider READING the warning and deciding if you are up to the task or not. Personally, Im not currently going to be playing the alpha a whole lot but I am pleased with what I've got, the game works, it's got a ton of new content and promising features, my only complaints so far are the constant night time servers and rather obtuse feedback when it comes to hunger, thirst, etc which I know are currently being worked on. Honestly, for an Alpha this is quite polished, I was surprised I managed to join a server at all, server wise it seems more stable than the mod even, which is surprising for a launch day on such a big title. Anyway, please understand, you bought an Alpha, you've got tons of warnings and Rocket even asked people NOT TO BUY THE GAME (who does that? Seriously, name someone else in this industry who does that) and you decided to buy it anyway, the result is that every time you complain about something you will find the reply: "It's an Alpha" Because it is.
-Se7eN- 874 Posted December 17, 2013 i hope your trolling because its like your head is wired backwards. the point of an alpha is its kind of like a kick starter that you can play, you pay the devs alot less than the full game would cost to play it and help shape it in its development stage. did you miss the memo? because dean has mention from time and time again that this is NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT, and only people who want to help this game grow and dedicated fans should buy it. xX_fr0st-w0lf_Xx (DayZ) 343 Posted December 17, 2013 To be honest when someone states an issue that must be fixed or changed and some blurs out, ITZ AN ALFA, it pisses me off. But when we have people like op that a different story.
phoboss 224 Posted December 17, 2013 AND right there, you have proven that you have no idea what this game is... mod =! SA... meaning, they don't have anything to do with each other (to put it simply) that makes no sense..... we are suppose to see IMPROVEMENTS, and move FORWARD not pay money, see things worse, and move BACKWARDS

weparo 613 Posted December 17, 2013 point is, after over a year of development, the 2nd "alpha" is worse then the first,... THEN DON'T FUCKING BUY IT! Read reviews! Inform yourself! Get smart, not butthurt! Just because it wasn't what you expected and you can't read! Seriously, STFU. Besides, the mod is FREE. You bought arma 2 / OA. A finished well established product. So I have spent $90 and 2 alpha games, and seems like nothing has been fixed... Arma 2 was WITH DLC OA about 30$ one year ago - at maximum. And it wasn't in Alpha at that time. The mod was, but you didn't pay for it. And the DayZ SA is something completely different. If you don't like it, don't. It's easy as that.
daze23 549 Posted December 17, 2013 it probably doesn't help that many complaints about the mod were met with "It's an alpha!". the question is if we will ever be able to say "it's a beta!"
