Day Z + Shadowplay?

Recommended Posts

I have the same issue with SA as I did with Arma 2, They both share similar issues for me, If I alt tab, It takes around a minute to get to my desktop, then another minute to get back in game, and Shadow play works on neither of them.

ok the fix for your problem is:

- go to your Dayz config file (C:\Users\[username]\Documents\DayZ\DayZ.cfg)

- select windowed mode by changing the row "Windowed=0;" to "Windowed=1;"

- save the file, start shadow play and then start the game

- when you are in the main menu simply press "alt+enter" to change back to fullscreen

- shaddowplay should now work

I did both solutions suggested here and got it working, but the game gets too unstable. Was able to record a shadow but it crashed DayZ.

Using DxTory for now, suggest you all do the same.

I actually found this fix on the nvidia forums, And it works perfectly, Beans for you.

P.S I came here to post it for everyone else to try. :p

tried that, got

"Error:Device reset failed, error 8876086c"

I had that too. I have identified cause of that. Change your HDR settings to low or go to DayZ.cfg and change HDRPrecision=8; ... it's the same as changing it withing the game to low. Then -winxp will work with shadowplay enabled. But as some one else said if you launch game with -winxp and you alt-tab your game will crash.

Hi fellow forumers,

A lot of people are having trouble using -winxp as a launch parameter as a fix for shadowplay. Majority of the time my game would not load and shadowplay still not working. I have now also found a lot of user settings in control panel affect shadowplay.

By default GE shadowplay records to a folder called "shadowplay". I have found success with re-naming the default save folder to a new one or changing the folder to a new location. Whatever you do, do not label your new folder "shadowplay" if you change your location as the problem will persist.

example

from C:/MyDocuments/shadowplay

to     C:/MyDocuments/whateveryouwanttocallyourfolderexceptshadowplay

                                          or

from C:/MyDocuments/shadowplay

to     C:/NewLocation/whateveryouwanttocallyourfolderexceptshadowplay

Make sure to point GE shadowplay to your newly named folder/location.

EDIT. I just went playing with Nvidia control panel settings and just broke my shadowplay LOL This just led me to another fix. If you changed some settings in control panel more than likely shadowplay is not working. Go to your Nvidia control panel and find

Display - change resolution to native

            - Adjust desktop colour setting to other applications change colour settings

            - Adjust desktop size and position to Aspect Ratio

Hope this helps someone like it did for me  :)

Happy gaming/recording

So I have found a solution...Open your DayZ.cfg file located in your Documents folder. Change Windowed=0 to Windowed=1. Save and exit. Start Shadowplay and close it again for at least 10 seconds. Turn Shadowplay on again (using the On button) and Load DayZ and then hit ALT+Enter to go fullscreen. You should see the Shadowplay Icon on the bottom right now without a red line crossing it. Hope it worked for you. Absolutely brilliant program from Nvidia...Much better quality than that of Fraps...26m32s with a file size of 3,59GB. No noticable hit on my FPS at all. Absolutely LOVE it :D. Leave some feedback if this helped you out.

EDIT: Sry didn't read the new comments which already contained the steps that i listed in my post. Guess that is what happens when i assume too much. ASSUME makes an ASS out of U and ME ;)
