Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 10, 2014 Hello I am going to be buying a desktop PC soon, and am wondering if it could run DayZ standalone and on which settings and FPS roughly i will be expecting:---------------------------------------------------------------Desktop Or Laptop:DesktopMonitor Resolution:1920x1080CPU:Intel® Core™ i5-4670, 4× 3400 MHzGPU:NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660, 2048 MBRAM:8192 MB DDR3-RAM, 1600 MHz---------------------------------------------Thank you :D Yeah, you'll have no problems. This is pretty much spot on "recommended specs", you'll run med-high settings with decent frame rates. Desktop or laptop? DesktopMonitor resolution: 1920x1080CPU: I5-4670k @ 4.1ghzGraphics card: GTX 780RAM:* 8gb DDR3 1600mhzSSD? (Yes/No) No The game need to be optimize, I get around 40fps everything maxed out I'm not sure why you'd even buy a game that's clearly labelled as an early access alpha build if you're looking for an optimised final product. :S It's a laptop. Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p 59388313 15.6-Inch Laptop Monitor resolution: 1920x1080CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.4 GHz Processor (6 MB Cache)Graphics card: Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT750M Discrete GraphicsRAM: 8 GB DDR3SSD? NoIt has a hybrid drive. 1 TB HDD + 8 GB SSD Yeah, it'll run alright on there. Could be a little choppy in cities but you should get steady frames on at least med settings for the most part. Im taking 45 50 fps outsite of the town. For instance from berezino to electro way. When I reach to somewhere in town, dayZ turning into a game which is unplayable. My question is how to fix this situation? Should I buy more ram, (2x2 extra ram and in total 8gb) and also SSD? These things can fix this problem? Thank you In advance. maxotaur 135 Posted February 10, 2014 In the game's current state it shouldn't run perfect even on a super computer, change your settings back to default and look at the rendering resolution, if it's too low, put it up and if it's too high, put it down, you should be above 80% at least to get a solid framerate. b0hem 21 Posted February 10, 2014 What about ram and ssd situation? By the way i will try to change rendering resolution. But i just want to improve my system settings to get better fps instead of decrease to game options.
bearbo 0 Posted February 10, 2014 You will be able to run the game but performance will not be great, especially in cities. I'd expect 30 FPS on low settings most of the time, half that in cities. Thanks mos1ey for the reply

Hope you figure it out.

terminal_boy 860 Posted February 10, 2014 Yes, should be very playable on Medium graphics settings. If you CPU is a 'K", overclock beyond 4.0GHz for better performance in cities.
TheAngryNachos 1 Posted February 10, 2014 Awesome thanks! (I'm assuming you are talking to me) Not quite sure how to overclock but ill do some research ahaha. Thanks for quick reply.
terminal_boy 860 Posted February 10, 2014 I know nothing about AMD CPUs, but DayZ doesn't support Crossfire, so you are only using 1 x 4870. If your AMD CPU is a fast one, buying a better single graphics card will improve things. If your AMD CPU is not so good, buying a better graphics card will not help much. soulfirez 901 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) In my experience all rv engine games (arma 1 2 3 toh dayz) do not go all that well on amd cpu's and a 940 aint a great amd cpu to boot its what a quad 3 gig cpu.... Sadly the best performance gain you can get is through the cpu you want to be running something clocked to atleast 4 ghz 4.5 is better ( you wont clock that cpu anywhere near that ... hell even amd's 8 core cpu(sorry forgotten the name right now) slugs along badly.. I persisted for a long time with amd but as i have been playing arma for over 8 years eventually had to bite the bullet and go intel cant go past a good i7 cpu.. PS amd is great bang for buck hell the phenom II 965 is still listed as one of the best bang for buck cpu's and there decent for almost everything else (few other programs like arma just run better on intel architecture.. b0hem 21 Posted February 10, 2014 I guess this performance issue is all about amd cpu's. 3.200~ ghz is my average cpu frequency while playing. But my graphic card is good enough to run this game. When I compare my cpu, graphic card and ram I think that rams are not enough to run with these parts. I mean ram is the lowest part of my system. My laptop has i7 quadcore cpu and 16gb ddr3 ram (800mhz) and its good enough to play Dayz Standalone

I have a i7 3820 clocked to 4.2GHz, and i have the GTX Titan witch have about the same power as the GTX 780, but i still have "problems" sometimes, when im in big cities i get down to mid 20 low 30 fps sometimes.I dont know what i am doing wrong, since my specs should run this more smoothly. Tuktanuk 4 Posted February 10, 2014 My rig is ancient by Technology standards (~5 years old).... I've done everything I could to upgrade what I have. Here are the specs: 16GB Corsair DDR2 RAMSocket 1366 Intel Core 2 Quad (they call it an i7) @ 3.2Ghz2 Wd Black 500GB drives in Raid 01 EVGA GTX 680 SSc 4GB video cardCorsair HX1000 Power supplySilverstone FT02 Case I have everything on Max settings and I have no issues running the game (outside of the current bugs). If I were the OP; I would take a long hard look at that Graphics card. Not trying to start a fanboy war. Look at the facts. Nvidia trumps anything you can buy in the AMD/ATI cards. maickkeli 0 Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) I am really interested in this game but my 4 year old pc ain't very good so I'm wondering, am I able to play and enjoy the game with my machine? Here are my specs: Desktop or laptop? DesktopMonitor resolution: 1920*1080 (But I can play with 1280*720)CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2,66Ghz (OC'd to 3,2GHz)Graphics card: Nvidia 8800GT (705/990/1700 core/memory/shader)RAM: 4GB (ddr2)SSD? No. Alright so I bought the game eventhough my pc isn't very good and I have to say I'm very surprised. I play on 1536 X 864 resolution (80%, monitor resolution 1920 x 1080) and low settings (clouds disabled). I've played 9 hours and my average FPS has been around 40. I haven't visited in bigger cities yet, so we'll se what happens when I find myself wondering the streets of Elektro or something else. :D Edited February 11, 2014 by Maickkeli

Start from there. I think you'll be able to run the game fine with those settings even in your native resolution. Keep in mind though, in major cities you won't be able to pop more than 20~25 fps. Don't get dissapointed. In less performance intensive areas, in which case is everywhere except major towns, your framerate will be at playable levels. If you are not happy with the framerate using the above settings, disable Shadows and Clouds (Settings -> Video -> Quality) Edited February 11, 2014 by Meik0
