crazykid1297 51 Posted December 16, 2013 Which game service providers are hosting DayZ Standalone servers? Please post here along with prices per slot, so we can all get an idea of which one to go for.
crazykid1297 51 Posted December 16, 2013 Changed the purpose of this thread to see which hosts are offering servers for what price per slot. If any hosters are browsing, post here with any details, thanks!
PikkonMG 0 Posted December 17, 2013 You can rent them from a few places, but it will probably run quite a few bucks I noticed gameservers.com has them now.
snagglefox 8 Posted December 17, 2013 Vilayer has them. Got an email from there. But from past experience I won't be getting a server there. Especially not at 1.75 a slot. Screw that.
prominentalex 76 Posted December 17, 2013 I don't see it at Vilayer. Anyone want to point me to it?
Uncle Zed 272 Posted December 17, 2013 Both Vilayer and GameServers.com are renting servers. GameServers.com is charging $2.29/slot, minimum of 30 slots, for a total of $68.95/month. Vilayer is charging €52.50EUR/month for 30 slots. Gameservers.com: http://www.gameservers.com/game_servers/dayz.phpVilayer: https://www.vilayer.com/game-servers/game-servers.html Those prices are a little rich for my blood, especially considering the number of official servers right now. People are just joining available servers without regards for who is hosting or what the settings are, so I believe it's pointless to run my own server at this time. korsakik 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Very hight prices.
flowan 12 Posted December 17, 2013 Just wait for the server files to be released as it is way cheaper to host your own dayz server on a dedicated server.
v1p3r 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Hi Guys We (Mweb) are busy talking to BI now, to see what we can do for the SA community. But yes, that is price is insane. RegardsV1P3R
rocket 16567 Posted December 17, 2013 We will be supporting passworded servers, but only once we have finalized the way to make characters persistent to only that server. That means when you log in to that community, your character will only be inside that. We are looking at making it possible to restrict to that server, or a subnet of the existing hive that involves many passworded servers. Will take a little time, though.
Pegz 49 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Way to expensive, waiting for the files to be released and just running a dedicated box is so much cheaper. Awesome news, personally as a player I had the most fun on private hives. As an admin it was also easier to manage a private server after awhile because you see alot of the same faces over time. Once we have security locked down more, and the process for hosting is streamlined - we'll be handling the torch onto the community in terms of hosting. We also need to cleanup bandwidth, performance, etc... so that it works better.

That would make hosting allot easier and cheaper for allot of people.
