"Hick's List" Post on Reddit

Recommended Posts

I think this is the proper area for this post, but if not, admins please forgive me for the error.

I just wanted to say that I think the "List" post that was made on Reddit earlier this morning was a really great thing. The Dev's have been MORE than open about the overall creation/process' involved with this game. The fact that they felt comfortable enough to post their plans on how to help refine and move forward with the Alpha even faster than what was previously planned is a testament to the true appreciation the Devs have for our community.

I'm not sure why the post was deleted, rumor has it Rocket didn't like the community response to it, but in my opinion we all need to stop being little toddlers about the game. So what if you are not selected as part of the "second elite testing group" to help push this game forward. I think our actions this morning in response to Hick's post is really sad, and just shows how ignorant and impatient people can be.

Rocket/Devs/Admins, if you read this, and if what I read from Hick's post was interpreted by myself correctly, I really suggest moving forward with the plan. Do what you feel is necessary to get this beast off the ground, even if that means you may get some whiners in the community. Thus far, you have been more than gracious with hearing all of us out and being extremely patient with our banter/pestering.

Community... let us all clam down and grow up a bit. We are all very excited for the game, I'm sure just as excited as the Dev's are, so let's stop being selfish, and not dictate the plans these guys have for us... It may be hard to believe, but I do honestly think these guys know what they are doing, and know what is needed to move forward.

Hopefully I didn't just start a misunderstood flame war ><

Amen, brother. Amen.

Sadly, you're asking for a rational response from a group that has frequently acted like spoiled children, so I don't hold out much hope. However, know that for every entitled whiner than complains about a single feature/item they don't like or that they're not getting their own way, there are ten players who are patiently waiting and understand that these things take time.

As they used to say: "empty vessels make the most noise".

I was laughing at first at all the tantrums and ignorance but then it just made me sad. If I was making the SA, crap like that would get me down, that team must have some thick skins

Yeah, they are way too nice to the community and in turn take so much flack. If I was one of the Devs, I would have lost it by now and stopped being so open. Props to all of them for somehow keeping their heads.

agreed philbottle & Beast, I applaude our uber Devs for sticking through it!

Sometimes I wonder how many of the whiners are actually COD teenaged mutant ninja kiddies as opposed to the rest of us...

Yeah, it's a shame, but honestly, I'm not sure why they felt the need to ask about it. I say just do it. If my dad taught me one thing it's that it is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

The actual line is, "It is EASIER to ask for forgiveness than for permission."  :) Takes on a whole new meaning.

The problem with that post on reddit was, that they posted that on reddit.

The reason rocket was giving about why he's posting on reddit that frequently was, because he thinks he gets a nice conversation with people going getting immediate feedback.

Posts like Hicks' need to be happening on these forums, though. It is obvious that the redditors can't handle that and with things like that they would be better off actually using their own forum where they can control the environmen.t
