wound animals to distract zombies

Recommended Posts

well in a recent walking dead rick took some pigs and cut them to bleed and lured the zombies away from the camp.

we have animals and many pigs   maybe this could be a good idea to when you are getting chased you injure a pig or cow and the zombies "infected" then focus on that giving you change to escape or heal. think it would be kinda cool .

I agree. I like this idea as well.

Would zombies also be attracted to animals when they're not injured?

One thing I didn't understand about Rick in that Scene.  Now I can understand using them as a distraction (and fully support the idea), but breaking/cutting their legs?  Tie some tin cans to the little bastards, maybe break one leg so they don't go too fast, and let them run around and pull the zombies further away from the fence.

Did you just spoiler the Walking Dead with a DayZ-Suggestion? Way to go.

But I really like the idea- that I have to admit.

Good Idea, but I think the zeds should always chase animals....even un-injured ones. Not only would it be awesome to see a chicken run for its life trough stary....but wouldn't it be realistic. I mean the zeds want meat, they don't care what type, so why not eat the animals.

This could also make animals more rare....maybe sometimes you have to defend a cow from zeds for the right to eat it. Or if you see some zeds feasting on an animal corpse you could clear em out and take some.....all be it with a major risk of infection.

Wounding an animal when you have a train though would lure at least a portion of them away from you, just as in op....maybe the blood looks more tastey....maybe they smell it....or maybe there preditorial instinct tells them that the wounded, bleeding, animal is an esier meal.

Nice idea...

The series defied some logic along the way...nothing new actually...just shows the brutality of mankind once more.

Well, to be fair, the man had to make a way of getting the Walkers off the fences and he knew the pigs had gotten ill from the food they ate and gave to the people. He had to kill the pigs off anyways. Granted, I think he should have simply killed the pig then tossed him immediately and not leave him to die, he had a decision to make of protecting the people he "rules" and made it.

I honestly don't blame him.

Wow this was offtopic.

I like the idea. I think it can be expanded on a bit more.

i think it matches the game mechanics well and shouldnt be hard to implement tbh.

you see pigs and cows alot ingame and could be a great way of getting rid of a group of zombies on your tail

Now if certain wildlife was (more) aggressive as well (so far that would only be Boars) or would at least try to defend themselves against zombies or even players that got too close that would be awesome.  And as cruel as it sounds, leaving the pigs alive was more 'tempting' for the zombies.  It still kinda sucks that they made the pigs unable to run/limp away (thereby leading the zombies even further away).

While we are wounding animals.  Why not wound players as well.  Like how Shane in the walking dead shot that fat guy (too lazy to remember name) to distract the zombies.

Evil but effective.

And what about wound player ? Like if you're bleeding, the smell of the blood attract zombies as well.

If you think you're already fucked by bleeding, thats just the beginning !

You need to lose a lot of blood for it to smell like in a slaughterhouse...
