What do you call such an admin?

I was enjoying a very fun Overwatch server where I was going on my scooter for days.

After a day of playing or so the server gets "hacked" or taken over by some script kiddie, and the admin becomes unable to kick this person so the admin shuts down his server for a while.

 

Then, the next day I spot 2 zombies that appear to be talking to eachother (may just be AI - I don't know) and I write this in the chat, and I got instantly kicked by the admin with something along the lines of "fuck off with ur trolling". I didn't care to come back the same day because it's evident that the admin is very young by the way he communicates, and it's hard to predict what a hormone crazed teen will do with so much power, so I waited til today in hopes of the admin having cooled off.

Today I came into the server and the admin said nothing to me and seemed to be in a good mood, and I then wrote to the admin, "Admin, do you remember kicking me for allegedly trolling?" To then proceed and tell him I wasn't "trolling" (I really wouldn't care either what this kid was thinking if it hadn't been for the server itself that I liked to play on)--and next thing I receive a permanent ban without having one single word said to me.

 

I am now left confused. I don't know what happened. It's like the admin is autistic or is incapable of understanding human interaction - or maybe it's an edgy kid who runs the server and wants to feel in control because his mommy doesn't allow him to boss around at home. I really just can't understand it, since nothing was said to me besides in the first kick.

 

I guess I won't be (able to) coming back to that server again although it was an enjoyable server besides the underage admin.

 

For the record the server is a part of "RAGE-GAMING" according to the server description.

Is anyone familiar with this sort of behavior?

sounds shitty.

hopefully servers like that turn into a ghost town.

Its like a business.

you don't treat your customers like shit or eventually you will go out of business.

this is a thing that eventually kills itself.

how ever these people usually have a group of friends and prey on random people joining the server.

and if anyone ever gets the better of them they ban them.

Its like living in North Korea.

Luckily not but that story sucks badly. I got pissed on one server when I was one shot killed with a sniper rifle through the bottom of my AN 2, teleports and admins admitting to some hacky shit. It was enjoyable untill getting killed numerous times for fishy reasons.

I'd rather be back to the server than have the admin be punished in spite the childish behavior from him or her.

Don't you get the idea from reading that someone may've taken over the server? That's the first thought I had when I was kicked. The admin and I conversed fine before the kick and didn't show anger at any time.

EDIT: btw, couldn't read it all, i really have had a lot of guinness at pool match tonight, but i read enough that i saw it's sucks what is happen to you, what happened to the good people of DayZ :( stupid time and human nature, makes me sad

This thread is a "what's happening???" thread lol. But it's about moving on and not caring, and I'm good at that :) and let's hope the SA is out soon so we can enjoy that.

I don't think immediately assuming he's mentally challenged is entirely fair; he had to deal with, from the likes of things, a rather frustrating event. It's fair, I think, to approach the situation with the understanding that he's likely got the so-called admin itchy trigger finger when it comes to anything that might possible be conceived as another threat to the sanctity of his server. If I saw someone write "these zombies are talking to each other," I'd be fairly suspicious as well (albeit not so that I'd immediately kick/ban someone for it). I don't think he was mature in his response and actions handling the situation, but your zero-tolerance response to his own zero-tolerance policy seems a little hypocritical.

 

But hey, that's my Devil's Advocate 2-cents.

Edit: On second thought, it's going to happen on any given server. Find a new server and move forward. We all encounter a different shape or form of this and it is nothing new here.

If you really like the server and think the admin was hacked, find out if they have a website, go there and ask. Otherwise move on. On second thought, move on anyways. If the server admin isn't able to keep the server from getting jacked up you will probably continue to have issues like this in the future.
