DayZ Standalone No UI Blood Level

Now this might just be a stab in the dark, or maybe just a stupid idea, but I know Rocket is trying to implement a way in which a player will be able to check their status (Food, Water, Blood etc.) without a UI. Well I cant help with the Food or Water, but I had an idea pertaining to blood level. If a player wants to check their blood level, they can just check their wrist, where all of the veins will be. If the veins are a healthy colour Blue (Green if you want to be really gamey), then they will have a higher blood. As the blood level drops, the colour of the veins will slowly change to a darker black or red colour, to indicate lower blood levels. I think this could be implemented as either a free look (Alt+Mouse move) down to the players wrist, or an actual keyboard command, which would pull back the sleeve and hold the arm in front of the players face. Just a thought, though it would be interesting to see implemented, as it would provide a relatively 'realistic' way to check the blood health of the player.

Love the idea, maybe he checks how strong the pulse is, eg. Puts finger on wrist and you  hear your heartbeat. if its strong, your good if its weak, well get a transfusion.

I think the transition from color to black and white, combined with the new injured animations, text notifications, ect., are going to provide this information. 

I think the problem is, the colour is good and all, but it can be a little hard to judge with any great certainty. In my opinion, using text pop-ups is actually worse than a UI, because for me that is more immersion-breaking.

DayZ is not trying to provide certainty. Also, you should watch the dev blogs for the SA, because text notifications are the direction the team is taking. Your opinion most likely won't change that, in my opinion.

Visual clues would be best, i don't think anyone with low blood would be able to do things right ( f.e. blurred vision, bad sense of balance. )

Veins will always stays bluish because of the status of the blood, if it turns red you might have blood poisoning.

Maybe you could... Test your blood pressure?

However maybe the colour of screen and falling unconscious would be enough.

Or maybe if its at a stage where your not going unconscious and it has declined slow then a friend might mention you look a little pale?

I think we do however need a special UI for body status or very good indication of what's wrong.

Simulating pain by the character holding their injured body parts when not on an adrenaline rush.

Not paying attention to the injuries should make them worse.

If you have a broken arm or something it should look properly fucked up, I'm not sure if its realistic but I'd like to see skin turning black with bleeding under the skin from internal injuries.

We've already seen limping which looks AWESOME!

DayZ is not trying to provide certainty. Also, you should watch the dev blogs for the SA, because text notifications are the direction the team is taking. Your opinion most likely won't change that, in my opinion.

That's was stated as being temporary though.

Whether they go full UI or an immersive visual system with clues from your characters behaviour next s what I think we're talking about.

What about a you could prick your finger and test your blood for sugar levels, but rework it so you can tell how low on blood you are and if you have infection. But visual effects are a must as well but it would be a good item to find, you could have a group and some one can be the groups medic, or even trade with other survives to heal then for gear. But zombies have to be in huge packs and really hard to force more players helping one another.

I doubt you can judge the amount of blood you have using a diabetes kit. This shit has to go through a lab.

I know a diabetes kit is just for sugar levels, but how do you check your blood level in the real world without a doctor? But something you need to find to check your blood would be a good reward for tracking one down and a good item to trade or good loot maybe. Not sure if their is a way to check your blood but I think it would be cool.

I just lol'd for real thinking about some player in a store in Cherno checking his blood pressure on one of those machines and dying like an idiot like the biker in Dawn of the Dead. Someone needs to make this a mod. I'll even volunteer to test it out.

I suppose you could incorporate some of the symptoms of Hypovolemia (blood loss):

You maybe on to something had a little read and I read that treatment can be a blood donation, that should be in the game have a kit to get your blood in the blood bag to use later, but have the risk of infection if you use dirty tools and infection from we're the needle entered the skin. But you will need eat after and if you do to much blood you could pass out and go in to an coma. Edited by Fruit_loop87

Hi, I would like to see some kind of UI for being able to check injuries, only available pressing a key, like the inventory UI. 

That UI would show parts of the body where the pain come from and maybe some kind of information about the wound type.

Thirst and blood level can be somewhat introduced into that UI also.

I would prefer this rather than text messages that you can easily miss.

Especially in first person you could be bleeding from a foot for example and don't notice it.

I'm up to have 0 or none UI at the main window, that would remove a lot of messages cleaning the main game window and will improve inmersion.
