Does foilage disapear completely when veiwing from a distance?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i understand foilage does not render fully at a distance but it got me thinking about players laying prone in it. Would a player in a ghillie suit stick out like a sore thumb if he was prone in a bushy field when a player was looking in his direction from say 150 meters away? Or does the player also disapear with the foilage? :P

Even though grass doesn't render on distance it will still be hard to make players out that aren't moving. They will just sink into the ground to make up for the fact, that grass doesn't render.

the player will sink into the ground to make up for the grass dissapearing, the grass will be gone but the bush will still remain in a simplified form.  the player will be very hard to see especially if still. doable but very hard.

A stationary ghillie is still hard to spot in a grassy field if the grass doesn't render.

It'd probably be easier (and safer) to spot them from 500m or so than 150m.

If it's a bush, not just tall grass, then as said it will be a simplified form and still hard to spot someone in it. If you want to find someone, keep in mind it pays to be patient and vigilant and hope they move.

Not only do they not render the grass out passed about 100 yards, you're at a major disadvantage if you don't set you graphics to the lowest settings (Except HDR) as you'll see less trees and the foliage will be less to making it easier to see through it.
