What weapons do Hero's normally carry?

Recommended Posts

i've actually never seen a hero - and i've played since july 2012 haha

Thats because its way harder to become a hero. I mean who cant camp a hill (or anywhere for that matter), get a kill every now and then and become a bandit.

Im a hero atm and I use SAW....why...because to zombies its quiet as a normal m4a1...80m audiable range I think...and best mag size :) but if I don't got saw its usually CCOSD with M9SD...or G17 if I haven't got nvg.

Just what ever + hatchet. Prefer something with scope and a bit of range outside city limits.

Hardly use a handgun unless I don't have a melee weapon (I'll drop secondary ammo in favor of bandages if I'm low on space).

you obviously haven't encountered many good shots.

If you keep moving thinking someone has you in their sights it saves your life a lot.

Seems unless your stationary quite a few can't hit diddly squat which is why so many camp or go for the sucker punch.

If they do have the skills to pay the bills then beans for them. I've still died more often from infected and my own stupidity than pvp though.

This, except mostly stupidity.

I haven't seen many heroes for a while though, so it may be that now heroes are commonly rocking silenced guns and M14s.

I think the M1014 is a very good hero weapon, because, as has been said before, with pellets it's an excellent bandit killer.

It's a bit ironic that I can hit people on the move a bit better than I can hit people who are still. I'm not talking about people standing upright or even crouching in a location but people on the move. Not sure what it is but I spot someone breaking cover and running for the next location and my reactions kick in and line up the shot for me. My wife watching over my shoulder the other night said, "Nice shot." after I saw sudden movement at about 400 meters, went to the scope as I spun to line up the shot, and fired. Then I couldn't hit a person who's head and shoulders were out of cover, they didn't realize I had angle on them and thought the shots were coming from my friend in front of them. I get the feeling I think too much about my shots. ;)

Really i'll grab anything that comes my way, but my prefered loadout is Revolver, Hatchet, Sa-58v and a CZ-550.

The force works in mysterious ways.

I think with ARMA you can get carried away a bit considering drop and lead etc because it actually makes a difference but I reckon that sometimes a puff of dust and then compensating is a lot quicker than get out the wind gauge before every shot.. so to speak.

I dunno why but I always see hero's with the m14.  I would say that is the hero weapon.

On the contrary, it is rather hard to "Shoot to kill" when you are dead. ;)

What I was saying is that if you got the opportunity to "shoot to kill" the guy who shot at you first, he is a lousy bandit/lousy shot.

Then the vast majority of Bandits are "lousy" to use your term.

We have much in common! I tried sniping this fella while he was looting the Stary tents and I could't steady the shot, so I waited for him to run and shot him first time. I think its the fact that when they are staying still you have lots of time to take the shot and you end up thinking about it too much and doubting yourself, but when he's running for cover you dont think. You just line him up and take the shot.

I carry either M4A1 CCO SD or DMR. Why the DMR? Because in TMW there's actually something like bodyguards, because we need them.

I saw a group of 3 heroes like a week ago. Here is the load out

~All had ALICE packs

~1 had an AS50

~1 had an M14

~1 had his Makarov sidearm out and had a M4A1 CCO SD

After killing two and only managing to clip the third before he logged, they had rangefinders, a Mk light machine gun, an M9 Silenced, and to my surprise a tactical shotgun.

I have yet to make sense of the whole setup...

Shotguns are not that bad especially with Pellets in close range situations, you can spin and fire even without crosshairs and usually at least clip your target if not put most of your shot into them.

Bet they were set to have someone on overwatch with the sniper while the others went into the town. M14 to take down players and the pistol & SD Rifle to zombie clear for them both. I'll bet you the silenced pistol was on the guy with the sniper so he could quietly take out zombies if he needed to for position or because his shot attracted some.

I don't think their really is any rhyme or reason to it. Like all other players a hero will probably pick weapons from

- What's readily available

- Ease of re stocking ammo (Eg. if you roll with a clan you may do well to use the same type of guns so you can bum ammo from each other in a pinch)

and of course, how you play. Also keep in mind that having the skin doesn't make them a true hero. its actually quite easy to KOS everything and still get hero skin if your in a clan and frequently BB your buddies.

My loadout consist of this:

M14/DMR: Depending on where I'm going and what I might be doing, I'll use one of them.

M9SD: For when you need to silently get rid of those pesky zombies

M4A1SD: I carry it in my backpack for when I have a lot of zombies I need to silent get rid of.

M24: I'll take one along with me if I'm going to do some counter sniping.

Coyote Backpack

Rangefinders

NVGs

All the tools

And of course, medical gear and food.

*bows* I agree. From my experiences, the kits of heroes is really varied to availability and personal taste.

Another thing. Heroes commonly pride themselves in being 'bandit slayers'. Now to achieve the bandit skin that marks you as a target for heroes, you would have to do some killing yourself. And yah, you might have picked some easy kills, but more times than not, you have to have at least some hostile sense and strategy to rack the kills for bandit. Now, heroes are killing the bandits, so having a comfortable and tactical set of weapons to slay these sometimes challenging hostiles is the key component.
