How would you guys feel if there was a lser targeting system in dayz? Meaning bandit 1 shines the laser on a ac130 flying over head, bandit 2, fires the missile hitting the laser designated subject. Also, what about debris, so the plane listed above, after it blows up drops debris onto the area beneath it. If your underneath it, your killed.

DayZ doesn't need military grade weaponry. It's set in Chernarus, some shitty place in Asia.

They don't have weapons like that.

Right because a survivor in the zombie infested world is going to have a

 

1.Missile launcher.

2.Laser guiding system.

3.Missiles for the launcher.

4.Ability to know how to use the launcher.

 

I am even less concerned about the missile launcher. He mentioned AC130...  Just what our ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GAME needs.  A high tech military gun ship!  Makes a lot of sense if you don't think about it...at all.

If you look past the gramer and stuff this wouldn't be hard to add atall, just add the laser designator and the battrys for it to the loot tables. Make there spawn chance SUPER rare....more so than nvg or rangefinders. It would be extremely hard to have the whole set at once (battery, laser marker, correct rpg, ammo, and a friend to help you use it) then you would still have to find an active heli to use it on. That way its not gonna turn dayz into arma, hell youd be lucky to see a laser guided missile go off in months of play. It would be harder to find and use than the current rpg ( yeah....everyone remember that an American rpg already spawns in chernarus!!)....which is like gold dust to find anyway. I guess Im just from the camp of "if it existed before the apcolypse....it will be there after" so lets have it.

 

And for the "this wouldn't be in chernarus" people....ok....you aren't allowed to pick up any M class weps anymore, or G spec....all your allowed is AK's and SVD's :P

 

Plus id love to be cruising round looking for crash sites one night, then all of a sudden you hear that bee..bee...beeeeeeeeeeep, and your forced to either pull an avoiding backflip or jus bail out. Now that would be a campfire story to tell :D

I don't think any shoulder-fired guided missiles don't use a separate laser designator, it's a one-piece system. Laser designators in DayZ would be most useful for marking targets so an A10 can fly in and mess things up with laser-guided GBUs. Hopefully we'll see A10s in standalone, maybe a rare spawn at the NEAF.

But... I never want an AC-130 in the game.

It is the definition of bambi spawn killing.

Fly down coastline = AC 130 win.

Unless it had no ammo.

Ahh yeah I think your right, they work with sidewinders right? An A-10 could be cool...but with no ammo and if you want a GBU the its found in a few parts and has to be assembled before it can go on the plane. That should make it rare enough not to be spammed all the time.

I used to repair small engines in college at a job I had.

I know how to cut hair properly, held a license at one point.

I can gut a deer and cook it after stalking it.

I can clean a gun and strip those I am familiar with.

I was a first responder and am still certified in CPR and First Aid.

I can take a computer and other electronics apart and do some simple repairs that require soldering.

In highschool I helped my dad build and plumb houses as well as maintain his rentals. 

There are a ton of skills most people have that they can draw upon. Most the people I know have been through gun safety classes and know how to shoot one and I don't like in Texas. Some of us could actually use melee weapons effectively from Kendo or things like SCA. Heck I have friends that can actually forge blades from stock metal and a couple with enough machinist experience and tools that given the specifications from a book they could mill a crude gun. On the other hand I have friends that are actual dentist or EMTs. 

 

 

Even so I think such complicated weapons have no place in DayZ. Rifle, shotgun, pistol, heck even a tazer are good. Automatic Rifle and such are fine but more rare.
