I tried wasteland today. I thought it was decent, but the food/water mechanic was redundant. Food was so easy to find and hunger/thirst ws never a problem. Also, why doesn't wasteland adopt the DayZ style scavenging system (Iems in the world, different design etc, instead of a barrel and a box of fruit in every town with an endless supply)

 

How long did you play? If you play and survive long enough you will find yourself lacking food and water in no time. If you play alone food and water is not a problem, try a team. How the food and water looks like is secondary imo, at least it's healthier than the food in DayZ :lol:

Wasteland was developed way before DayZ afaik and evolved a different way than DayZ for obvious reasons. At least the mission is not a copy of a copy of a copy of a mission.
