kichilron 8550 Posted April 15, 2014 Umm, well to be honest I don't really know the differences, It seems the standalone will be using a more advanced engine? So i'm guessing that that will have an impact? I read you would need combined Operations to be able to play the regular DayZ mod is that correct? Or is there something else I will be needing in order to download and play the DayZ mod. As of right now I'm downloading the operation Arrowhead demo, so I'm guessing when I start that up it will be pretty much the same graphics as the DayZ mod will be, so if I can't run OA then I won't be able to run DayZ Let me merge with the correct topic then. Either way: you will need ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead to be able to play the DayZ Mod - only OA doesn't cut it. There is however a guide how to run the mod with ARMA 2: Free. Just google it real quick. :)
spookyme1 0 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Desktop Monitor resolution: 1600 x 900 CPU: AMD FX 8100 8 Cores Graphics card: GTX 660 RAM: 8GBs SSD? (I don't know) I'm looking to upgrade my CPU since I get a stable 30 FPS that randomly drops to 10 sometimes. My mother board is a AS ROCK 960GM-GS3 FX board, its socket type is AM3+ and I would like to know what I can upgrade my CPU too. The max amount I can spend on a CPU is about 200 dollars or less. I live in the US. Edited April 19, 2014 by spookyariton

Many thanks Tough one. I found it to be barely playable on a 5870 mobility so any lower than that is gonna hurt. Having said that, the game will run. Just up to you wether you find it playable or not.

Regardless, I'm buying a laptop to play the game, I don't require anything fancy like high graphics or insane fps, I just want to be able to play the game on low/very low settings with reasonable fps (30-40). The laptop I'm looking at getting has the following specs:CPU: i7 2.6 ghzRAM: 4GBGPU: Nvidia FX 880m Just ask if you need any other info, It's a HP elitebook 8540w I am looking at, thanks. Yes, you will be able to run it fine, your CPU is more than enough to handle it - might want to take a look at a better GPU whilst you're at it, but other than that rpetty solid.
