to all these people: You need to make some tweaks, but once you setup your game, even my gt730m+i5 3337m cpu can run it ~30 FPS

Hey all! I'm going to upgrade my pc very soon. I currently have an i5-3350p and a Radeon 7850. Do you guys think I should upgrade my CPU (say to a 3570k), or upgrade my GPU (to maybe a GTX 770). Which will see a bigger payoff - more fps's? Would upgrading one component bottleneck the other?

I believe that DayZ utilizes CPU power more than GPU power - but the standalone might be evening this out?

Thanks! :)

Nope, the SA rewards fast i5s just like the Mod does.

I'd go for a 3570K and overclock it.

Your 7850 with give very playable frame rates at Medium settings.

Obviously, with a decent fast CPU fitted, moving to a GTX 770 will be a huge boost to all games.

I already get pretty good fps's on medium settings on 1080p, with my current setup. But I'm wondering what will enable me to run it on high settings, with max viewing distance. I feel like max viewing distance would give the greatest advantage.

I'm guessing I'd have to bite the bullet and, as you said, upgrade both to a 3570k & 770 to accomplish this.

Yes, it should be playable on Low-Medium.

Don't forget that turning down some graphics settings ADDS CPU load.

  -OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)

  -Memory: 8 GB RAM

  -Hard Disc: SSD 512 GB

  -CPU: Intel Core i7 (8 x 1,73 GHz)

-Graphic Card: NVIDIA NVS 3100M (tech specs here)

  -Monitor Resolution: ????

  -Windows Ratings

    >Processor: 7,1

    >Memory (RAM): 7,3

I'll know, the bottleneck is my graphic card but is there a way to play this lovely game? Any way???? Don't mind if the graphic effects are not the best. All I want is playing this game on my DELL Laptop.

Run everything on low, w/ no post processing and no antialising and you might get 15 fps

i would say no...

i can run the mod on ultra low with 15-20 fps on a lenovo m57 at work

it is a dual core 2.5ghz with a low pro amd radeo 5750 or something

4 gb ram, etc

main thing is you need way way more processor speed and a better gfx card
