I am wondering about optimizing the game for my PC

Desktop or laptop? Desktop! although I do have a laptop that can play it somewhat
Monitor resolution: 1920x1080 although the native is less (I'm using a 32 inch Sony LED TV)
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600@ 2.40 ghz
Graphics card: MSI GTX480
RAM:* 8GB DDR2
SSD? (Yes/No) no, but hopefully in the near future. also Windows 7 now 8 when I got to SSD.

Laptop:

AMD A6-4455M APU RADEON hd GRAPHICS 2.10 GHZ

4.00 GB DDR3 (3.47 usable)

on my desktop I average about 14 FPS and laptop 9-10.

Hi All,

I too want to purchase this game and I am sure it has been more optimized since launch of Alpha.

Can I run below smoothly? I do not care about graphics as long as I can play 1080p and good FPS like 45 at least in cities and combat.

Graphics card(s)(GPU)(@**GB): Zotac GT630 1gb Synergy edition (384 cores)
Central Processing Unit (CPU) Celeron 1610 2.6ghz dual core
Random Access Memory (RAM) 8GB 1333
Power Supply 400 watt:
Solid-state Drive (SSD) Chronos Mushkin - Have about 17 GB left.
Operating System (OS) Windows 7 SP1 64bit All updated.

Please let me know. Thanks!

CPU: AMD FX-6350 3.9GHz 6-Core Processor

Motherboard: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Video Card

Monitor: AOC E2425SWD 60Hz 24.0" Monitor  1920x1080

Just curious as to the type of FPS i could expect from a build like this.

Dayz will run fine on that computer at nearly any graphics.

its is very dependant on cpu, which u have an awesome one so youll be fine.

your graphix card looks good,

I would say at mid settings 50 + fps out of cities and 30+ in cities.

Anhthing in arma 2 set at high or above runs on yiur graphics card, anything below that on cpu, so 3/4 things on cpu and 1/4 things on graphics, very good gameplay and possibly 60+ fps out of cities

Maybe, I 2ould recommend a better cpu though. I would say an average if 30-35 fps. You could mess around a lot and get about 10 fps more but im not sure. Only works with some people

I'm thinking of buying DayZ today, And I was wondering before I go out and throw 20 dollars away if I would even be able to run it, even on the lowest possible settings is perfectly fine with me. My specs are

Processor: AMD Phenom 2 x4 925 processor 2.80GHz

memory: 8.00 GB

64 bit-system

graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6570

If there is any other information you need let me know and i'll post it.

Are we actually talking about the mod here? Or the Standalone?

Umm, well to be honest I don't really know the differences, It seems the standalone will be using a more advanced engine? So i'm guessing that that will have an impact? I read you would need combined Operations to be able to play the regular DayZ mod is that correct? Or is there something else I will be needing in order to download and play the DayZ mod. As of right now I'm downloading the operation Arrowhead demo, so I'm guessing when I start that up it will be pretty much the same graphics as the DayZ mod will be, so if I can't run OA then I won't be able to run DayZ
