lipemr 160 Posted January 3, 2014 to all these people: You need to make some tweaks, but once you setup your game, even my gt730m+i5 3337m cpu can run it ~30 FPS
Dannyeire 0 Posted January 4, 2014 Hey all! I'm going to upgrade my pc very soon. I currently have an i5-3350p and a Radeon 7850. Do you guys think I should upgrade my CPU (say to a 3570k), or upgrade my GPU (to maybe a GTX 770). Which will see a bigger payoff - more fps's? Would upgrading one component bottleneck the other? I believe that DayZ utilizes CPU power more than GPU power - but the standalone might be evening this out? Thanks! :)
terminal_boy 860 Posted January 4, 2014 Nope, the SA rewards fast i5s just like the Mod does.I'd go for a 3570K and overclock it.Your 7850 with give very playable frame rates at Medium settings.Obviously, with a decent fast CPU fitted, moving to a GTX 770 will be a huge boost to all games. Dannyeire 0 Posted January 4, 2014 I already get pretty good fps's on medium settings on 1080p, with my current setup. But I'm wondering what will enable me to run it on high settings, with max viewing distance. I feel like max viewing distance would give the greatest advantage. I'm guessing I'd have to bite the bullet and, as you said, upgrade both to a 3570k & 770 to accomplish this.

Yes, it should be playable on Low-Medium. Don't forget that turning down some graphics settings ADDS CPU load.
