Its Sad that the mods with potenital have 0 population

Recommended Posts

mods with a lot of potential, have little to 0  population and it makes me sad. Mods like DayZ Epidemic, DayZ Hunting Grounds, DayZ Celle and some others. I would love to play all of these, but what's the fun in that when there is 0 other people on the server. Come on people lets get out there and give these mods support and play them.

I think the main problem is that we reaching a state where we have too many custom mods... Not to mention all the scripts that you can add to customize the original DayZ mod on private hive.

Even if somes mods are cool, DayZ community is not big enough to fill all servers/mods on a regular basis.

Agreed with above.

Sidenote - I find Celle as a highly unsatisfying (sucks)

the only good mods IMO are Zero, Aftermath, Namalsk, Taviana and maybe Epoch.

I thought you were talking about Orlok having massive potential but being lonely. Or Inception locked up watching anime..maybe a combine of the two ? Inceptima at Orloks swilling away like it's 1999

I can't say I'm a big fan of any of the mods to be honest. They all seem much less polished than the official mod and all they've done is divide the community.

I hope the standalone isn't opened up to modding. :/

What if ARMA2 wasnt open to modding ? Then, possibly this mod wouldnt have been created... I say let the modders mod. It opens up all types of possibilities.

Are you crazy? If standalone isn't opened up to modding people will get bored - be it of gameplay, or of Chernarus.

Are there too many mods for DayZ? Probably, but the finest (i.e. DayZero) always have players playing, while the mod is constantly being supported.

Modding didn't ruin ARMA 2, that's the difference.

Sure, it opens up a tonne of possibilities. There won't be anyone around to experience them cause they're all playing in the 9,000 vehicle, 24/7 daylight and spawn with a Doom BFG servers though.

Modding the game also allows hacking.

So rocket has to decide carefully.

Modding rocks..what is the only reason you can think of that EA doesn't want bf officially modded ? No money in it. No other reason. Sure DayZ has money..but how many mods in Arma do..fuck all...and how many is there. Shit tons. And how better is the game for it..shit loads.

SA will be modded whether official or not :) May take some time but it will happen.

Oh, so that's why there are no hackers on BF3 or BlackLight Ret. or MoH Warfighter... List goes on. Hacking happens regardless, modding keeps the game alive

BF3 is moddable, but you can get banned.

Rocket has implemented so that you cannot start up the game if it was modified in the core files.

Yeah but modding allowed the creation of this Mod. Why do you feel the mods have ruined this mod?

If people choose to play 9000 vehicle servers for a bit of fun then why should we stop them.. Doesnt mean we have to play those particular mods. If you build it they will come.. be it maybe only for a short time to try it out..  then go back to vanilla or caramel servers or whatever you want.

If you dont want mods then remove the option to mod. Opinions will differ mate thats for sure so lets agree to disagree.

I think mods would be ok, but here goes the problem with SA and Private Hives, as you couldnt put it in the public for obvious reasons.

So maybe in the further stages of development.

Sure, but I don't think the fact that DayZ is a mod for ARMA 2 is relevant at all.

Because humans are drawn to the path of least resistance. The fact that everyone plays in easy mode servers makes it impossible to find active vanilla servers, the mod was infinitely better before private hive servers became available.

Hows it not relevant? You said you didnt want modding and without it this wouldnt exist..

A lot of these mods were rushed out and don't really offer anything new apart from the map.

At least something like DayZ 2017 tried to be a bit different.

I love a change of scenery.. didnt make the Dayz Mod any less enjoyable.. even though i dont like all the maps to be honest.. spoilt for choice..

Because modding is a huge part of ARMA 2 and always has been. User created content is what keeps the games going, whereas modding in DayZ has served no purpose other than the bastardise it and divide the community. Like I said - it's literally impossible to find a populated vanilla DayZ mod server at this point.
