and before you ask as with everything in aftermath the scope and bandoleer will be craft able. Our resident modelling god (Sparlin) is working on more and more every day and with news that the origins files are still not public we hope to get our base building up very shortly

(Kar98k goes above Mosin, but they're both up there on my list.)

Beat dude. What exactly are you up to here? Got a link to all this custom DayZ modding/server you're involved with?

I'm looking at getting involved with DayZ mod again - your stuff sounds pretty promising!

we may think about a kar but at the moment we are remaking some russian classics (i think the SVT40 is next) as well as implementing some more "russian" themed food (well eventually)

its actually bandages we're toying with them or duct tape both are in the mod at the moment and both are used for crafting. improvised bandages are created from ripping clothes and changing rags in to bandages. rags can also be used to make splints with sticks, made from wood.

 

Your only going to find the base weapon you'll have to find a scope and attach it yourself although the rarity is going to be extremely high

Has it been released onto DayZ Commander yet or is it still a WIP?

in closed beta atm ironing out some issues first patch was released a couple of days ago and the bugs are pretty much gone. Just waiting to add some amazing new features we have planned then its released to everyyyyyyyyyyyyyyone. Should be on commander yeah. The map editing is taking time, our map guy is imo the best in business and has created the most ridiculous series of additions you have ever seen all spawned server side to avoid any lag. We still have NEAF and the termination centre to finish. Then its just the last few bits of code for house placement for the building and then the other bits we want for release

So the two nagants will be the carbine and the other the 1891-30

 

differences between, the carbine being shorter will have a lower velocity therefore you will need to accommodate for the bullet drop and also leading the target more.

 

As i've said already you will be able to find the base weapons throughout the map however if any of you have played Aftermath you will know weapons are hard to come by and the sights for weapons even harder. So it should be pretty well balanced.

Hey all, nice to see people liking the new weaponry. I have just tested these out in game and after a few tweaks they will be spot on.

 

8 Variations will be craftable via additional Scopes and Ammo Belts, the latter making the reload time shorter. 

 

We have modeled the gun as accurately as we can with realistic reload times and the best sounds we can find. Animated Bolt Reload is also done and looks great.

 

This gun will be a feature of the first public launch of Aftermath.
