US 1994 Admin Vehicle Hoarding

The Admin of 1994 is actively hoarding all high value vehicles for his own group. On top of that he uses his admin capabilities to locate the grid of any vehicle or player spawn he wants.

Without going into details, the logs are sufficient to abuse.  The logs can help to determine hackers but an scrupulous admin could use it unethically.

as an admin of the server you're talking about, no we don't, we have the military offroad, and the hatchback.. that's it

 

also as an FYI, the Biplane, humvee, and the 8 seat little bird are all in the debug planes (20 grids off of the edge of the map, so essentially ungetable)

I am the server owner of US 1994.

 

John hasn't played in awhile, so I need to correct a few things. We have the military offroad, a red UAZ, a Huey, and a humvee. Another group has vehicles; a bus, the hatchback, and the Mi-17. We do not hoard all of the vehicles.

 

Chet stated that I have the ability to locate all vehicles' grids in my server, and I can see the grids where players log in. This is true. All admins on the public hive have this ability.

 

All vehicles get logged once the server loads up. I do not abuse by looking at these logs to steal other players' vehicles. In some cases, I have looked up vehicle coordinates, such as the AN2 cargo plane, MH6J Littlebird (black) and the Humvee, as they were in the debug area for some time. And on some occasions, I have looked at the logs to determine if a vehicle was "ignored" by the public hive after being destroyed. I have seen where vehicles were located, and I have seen where players have logged in. Again, any admin on any public hive server can do this.

 

I am the only person on my server who looks at that particular log file.

 

The OP started this thread because a script kiddie teleported vehicles to another group's base. I was online when it happened, and banned the person who teleported the vehicles. The vehicles teleported were the Ural, a Tractor, the S1203 van, and the Mi-17. In the process the script kiddie destroyed their tents which contained most of their gear. Because of this the group duped items to make up for it. I let that slide and didn't ban them for that, as I thought it didn't matter because they had just lost their tents to a scripter, which had most of their gear.

 

They had added on more vehicles to their base such as the old hatchback, and the humvee (which had been brought out of the debug area by changing a line in the server pbo), so then they had a good majority of vehicles at their base.

 

Chet believed all of the vehicles they had were gotten illegitimately, and he blamed me for being OK with it, hence why he made this thread.

 

At any rate, we as admins of US 1994 do not hoard vehicles, or cheat to get them. Furthermore, it isn't even against the rules for a group to hoard vehicles, anyway.

... everything crazy just said is obviously not true. I was just banned as I was driving away in their VS3 right after i killed them all. pathetic.

You logged in found our base in a matter of minutes, killed all of us, (when I saw you you were 70+ meters away then within two seconds you were next to me shooting me) and then went off in our mumble server yelling at us being really immature.

LOL! sure... thos words never came out of my mouth... besides that, you knew that you willingly led my associate to your camp. He then relayed the grid to me... but good try.. you wonder why ur server is practically empty.

Chet, you are unbanned. John was not right in issuing a ban, as you did not cheat.

 

I will say that you have turned into a complete dick. As far as I am concerned, the feeling is strictly business. You will remain banned on the TBU mumble server for acting like a child, and don't expect us to be very nice to you after the way you treated us.

 

All of your antics are unnecessary, placing the blame of a script kiddie and issues with the game on me because I own the server was no excuse to act in the way of a child having a temper tantrum (posting threads to discourage players from joining our server, harassing TBU members in mumble, etc).

I never harassed anyone... I came into their mumble and simply stated that I was in the process of knocking down their tents for knocking down my own. then i was banned.

I'm going off of what they said. I have proof of neither statement being true, so I will no longer take sides in this. If you were banned for this, then you have a reasonable claim. But I find it hard to believe no offensive words were exchanged.

Either way, Chet is not banned from the DayZ server, he has been banned from our Mumble server, nothing else. There is no point to argue over it here.
