Nos120511 15 Posted August 12, 2013 I've been playing on various servers and maps lately and it seems that admin abuse is a trend. Spawning helicopters and raining fire down from the MG's for the hell of it and things like that. It's annoying because it seems to have no repercussions. People still go to those same servers over and over, people still donate money to the owners, and players are still treated like garbage just because someone with more authority than common sense has decided it to be that way. Today I played for several (3 or 4) hours without dying. I kept to my own. Avoided heavily trafficked areas, gathered the things I needed and even stopped to help a few people along the way, giving extra weapons/ammo to freshspawns that I had come across. The server was about to restart; so at the 5 minute warning I ran off into the woods around Novy and logged out to wait. I went and made coffee, switched laundry and rolled a cigarette, I came back and logged in, checked to see what I had and what I needed and just as I was getting ready to leave the woods (On the opposite side headed toward Msta/Staroye) a helicopter flies over me, lowers to about 60 meters off the ground and the asshat in the gunner's seat cuts me to pieces; they raise back up turn around, and fly off. This all happens in a span of 3 or 4 minutes. This kind of behavior among server admins DRASTICALLY reduces the value of this mod. I'm hoping all of this is worked out and more organized in the SA. Can't say my hopes are very high though.. Does anyone know of a server for Overwatch or the original Day Z mod that has good admins/atmosphere? Rage VG 4033 Posted August 12, 2013 If admins like that are receiving donations, imagine what an admin who isn't like that would get? You should consider trying for an admin spot on a server. Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted August 12, 2013 Found an Overwatch server today, thought it was good until I realized the admins were spawning in with a DMR + Coyote pack. They also were fans of verbal abuse.I would recommend BMRF or Musty Gaming. Musty Gaming does not *yet* have an Overwatch server, and I'm not sure about BMRF. Slartybartfast 76 Posted August 13, 2013 Try the Hunters Den, very skilled and active admin (Skeeter) who never plays on the server, so guaranteed no admin abuse :D. Managed to fix a lot of issues like tent placing restrictions and the infection rate. Pretty quiet atm tho due to holidays I think. tandwan 250 Posted August 13, 2013 I've seen a lot of servers with admin abuse. Majority of the time it's admins using the admin panel to gather every vehicle in the game or to hunt players down. It gets dumb and very annoying. I rarely play anything but live servers now and even then due to hackers, I do that sparingly. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If you break it down, it isn't entirely the admins fault. The owner should tell the other admins to not abuse the powers, and if they abuse the powers then they lose all the admin powers. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's abusing your power bud. You're using powers a normal player would not have to move around the server, and while you still consider it innocent, it's not what it was meant for. Your point of view, I for instance, do not consider that admin abuse. For all I care, only admin abuse there is is admin kicking or banning you after you killed him. You're using outside tools to get into a favored position so you can engage a player. Admins who use the admin map to steal from camps and also to find hidden camps is very abusive. When I help people like that I make them want to stay in the server. So when I teleport to help a player who has a question, or got a glitch, its admin abuse?
