RedTailedLizerd 12 Posted August 7, 2013 I second this idea. But I really like the idea of "search this heli crash or raid rhis hospital" but as a training mode or tutorial. Like something similar to the training military operatives do to stay sharp. Especially since the loot spawn system will be so much more difficult. I also think stuff like heli piloting missions for training would be nice 'cause, frankly, I am terrible at flying helis.
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) All these basic infos could fit in a manual tho. Tutorials attract the wrong kind of people :/ Too in dept tutorials and practice modes ruin the game authenticity. Edited August 7, 2013 by Lady Kyrah
applejaxc 2500 Posted August 7, 2013 I still don't get what is so wrong in learning the game as you go, that the first chopper you find you might not just take to the sky because you have no idea how to drive it (might take several attempts in a safer environment). The idea isn't training missions. The idea is, sometimes multiplayer is a pain in the ass and we all don't have God's internet.
liquidcactus 719 Posted August 7, 2013 There actually some new DLC for that walking dead game called " 400 DAYs" and its 5 random sub stories that you pick of a notice board of "missing family members" and they are very short... its actually a pretty cool and exciting idea to play with i think considering they are only small scenarios that pit you in the shoes of some random character dealing with problem X and dramatic characters a,b, and c... something like this i think would be a good idea.. with the ideas or " stories" being short and sweet there is alot in the way of different ideas and scenarios to play around with and keep it fresh rather than the campaign idea like the pony girl said

3rdparty 229 Posted August 7, 2013 Yea I think this idea has got merit to it. Can't say I've always been keen on a SP mode tbh but then again I was new to ARMA when I started DayZ, and I did spend some time on ARMA practicing with the weapons and trying to get accustomed to the textures for spotting players.Weapons are a bit of a learning curve on this game compared to other FPS so I see the reasoning behind offering a single player mode for practicing different basic activities. But I just feel like offering the maps up in SP format to explore and interact could affect any online playing indirectly.Players could get experience offline with approaching towns full of zeds safely, knowledge of terrain etc And I think this could provide an all most fast track handicap who chooses to play offline first. Not only that player interaction and survival fear/desperation would be removed and reduced in SP.I wouldn't be in any way upset if the idea was implemented, probably would play SP myself. But I feel it could detract away from the online experience.
AP_Norris 1018 Posted August 7, 2013 I really like armoury mode, Have tables with every item in the game on them x2.Vehicles. Endless ammo crates.Have a zombie spawn on button. When base building is implemented you could build and test possible bases before you try doing it in game.
dulix11 731 Posted August 7, 2013 My internet is just dick, so don't make me start on that. I support this, not so much the armory and stuff, but more the sandbox mode.I don't know how many of you have played Dynamic Zombie Sandbox, but you can change the parameters in that:- Amount of weapons- Amount of vehicle spawns- Maybe AI bandits?Of course some things like blood transfusions and other buddy-required things might have to be tweaked a little to work while playing solo.

Sutinen 635 Posted August 8, 2013 My internet is about the worst stable one you can find.. If someone else opens up a laptop, there goes my multiplayer experience. So I'd like an SP mode. Even a simple one is good for me.
King of kong 1117 Posted August 8, 2013 I'd like SP. You could get a feel for the map. Maybe AI bandits? I've seen them on some servers, they're difficult to combat, but smart, I've even seen dynamic battles between AI in cherno.

I only had a pistol at the time, so you can bet your bottom dollar I went for the nearest rooftop and laid there in third person until the fight was over! It was pretty incredible though. Until an A10 crashed into my building and killed me.
King of kong 1117 Posted August 8, 2013 Ideas for SP missions (Along with sandbox)Supply Drop mission: You fly a plane in loaded with supplies, you must drop the packages at different drop zones, you must conserve fel and make it back to base. Seems dull don't it? but it might give players an idea of key landmarks and let them brush up their flight skills.Evac: You are in a UN team sent into evacuate survivors, you have to travel across the map and rescue as many survivors as you can. You start with basic rations, water, ammo, an assault rifle, a pistol and some road flares and a map. You can map infestation zones to unlock new UN operations. You can leave at any time, but you must reach a designated position after you call for evac. You need to secure supplies for any survivors you find too.Convoy mission: You must protect a convoy as it crosses the map, it can be attacked by people or infected. This could work as a MP mode too where one teammust ambush the convoy while the other must protect it and reach the end of the map.
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted August 9, 2013 To be honest, I would keep the SP missions very simple (aside from the tutorials) Would just be you, alone (maybe a co-op/lan mode), and the zombies. I would have the vehicles in different spawn locations than in multiplayer, you would spawn at the far end of the map, and have to get to the other end of the map, surviving along the way. Story would be something like you got a radio broadcast saying there was a ship in Berezino with survivors on it and would be leaving in 3 days. Of course when you get there the ship is either gone or over run with zombies, so you could either ignore it completely and just see how long you can survive, you could clear the zombies from the ship and repair it so you can use it yourself (and 'end' the game), how many zombies you can kill, if you can clear a city, if you can clear the entire map, Last person on earth kinda thing. (Zombies would not respawn and neither would gear but both would be in large amounts, larger than in multiplayer, animals would however)
