Max Planck 7174 Posted June 27, 2012 [94001] Fixed: "enableItemsDropping = 0;" now even for MP clients er... does this not mean you have to stick this in your own config?I think it's a server side thing, but not sure. I guess we'll have to wait for something official from Rocket, and he is busy with the patch atm. My advice: Stay out of the water! http://www.heavy.com/comedy/2011/07/20-reasons-to-stay-out-of-the-water/3/
Lukio (DayZ) 24 Posted June 27, 2012 According to that "feature" these marines should successfully pass the training by losing all their gear?Man those pics just aren't good at proving your point. Can't you see - they lost their backpacks as well!Edit: Constructive discussion part:Some military backpacks can actually even be used as a flotation device, depending on their mass. ARMA 2 does have a weight or "backpack fullness" system where you loose breath much faster, why not let this decide if a player can swim or will just hit the sea floor and needs to walk back to the beach. Flip4Flap 8 Posted June 27, 2012 It's totally random.I happened to swim by accident last day when getting out of a boat too early and start swimming for at least 20 sec... As I was fully aware of this bug I already begun to cry over teamspeak and about the internet conspiration and how mad I was and how painfull this day was going to be and then...Then nothing happened, I just got back on my feet, with full gear. Was like "mmmh, nope"*touch wood*

Pyro_Marine 147 Posted June 29, 2012 All you folks talking about how stupid it is to lose gear while swimming and the USMC photos - I'm a Marine. We have to "Re-qual" every year for swimming.Know what we do there? We swim with an assault pack that has a waterproof bag inside. It doesn't have heavy shit in it. (BTW: We don't wear it. We put it in front of us and use it as a floatation device. We jump off a 5 foot ladder into the water with a pack on and you know what we do? We have to strip that pack off so we don't fucking drown. We perform drills where we go underwater and take all of our shit off so we can swim better. We do a jump from a 10 foot ladder with NO gear except our cammies and our boots.---You lose shit while you swim. You fucks saying you wanna keep your shit when you PURPOSELY go swimming need to hop out of the damn kiddie pool and the girl's skinny jeans. If you spawn in the debug ocean - sure. Keep your shit. You had no part in that. Those of you trying to wash your char's stinky ass: No.
bonafide 2 Posted June 29, 2012 Its a server option so basically its useless. Do you really want to swim to find out if you're gear is going in the drink?
tbird9412 14 Posted August 9, 2012 Its a dumb feature of the game. It has no purpose.
